Should you use prizes to help boost your virtual event registrations? 🎁 We've done a lot of testing with this in the last 10 years... One test we ran with had identical traffic source landing page, copy forms- everything was the same. The only difference was the addition of a prize promo. In this test, the reg form conversion rate before adding a prize was 21.6%. After adding the prize, it jumped to 34.9%. So that was like a 61% improvement in registrations 🤙 Think: You've done all this work to get people there so want to maximize your chances that they'll register. But..... are people just coming attending to win a prize? Maybe...but we think of it this way: If just one qualified prospect was swung off the fence from potentially registering to definitely registering because they found the prize offer compelling, that entire incentive was paid for many times over, especially in high ticket sales environments. So why not risk pushing that one or two or three prospects over the edge into the funnel when the relative cost is so low- you miss a hundred percent of the shots you don't take 💯 We look at it from a risk/reward standpoint. Sure, you're going to have some price hounds and we filter them out. But the potential upside makes it worth it, and that's why we always recommend the use of an incentive. 👊 #b2bmarketing #virtualevents

Are you struggling to achieve the registration numbers you want? Look at the following areas: 1️⃣ Event proposition and USP What value is your event bringing to its visitors and the wider community? If the answer isn’t clear to you, it won’t be to your audience. Make sure everything about the event is super simple: What, why, when, where, how – and the VALUE it is bringing to the visitor. If your event is operating in a competitive industry, it is also crucial to have a Unique Selling Point that brings something different to the market. 2️⃣ Trust & Credibility Particularly applicable to start-ups: you could have the best event in the world, but if no one believes you (why would they?) then they’re not going to come. Have you invested time in strategic partners? Gained advocacy from big industry names? Perhaps grabbed some testimonials of exhibitors? All these things could be the difference between a registration or an ignore. 3️⃣ Database & Market How good is your data? How quickly is the market changing? You could write the best emails in the world, but if they’re to a host of people who no longer work at the company, you’re not going to be getting any registrations. Develop your databases: build hit lists of who you want to be attending and make sure your data reflects those. 4️⃣ Testing Most important of all, the best thing to do when you are not seeing registration is to switch up what you’re currently doing and test what is and isn’t working. This doesn’t mean completely transforming your event and your strategy (as registrations are getting later and later, there’s a fine balance between trusting the process/holding your nerve and being reactive to minimal interest). Tweak different elements of the campaign and see what works. Capitalise on the bits that are. Try something fresh with the bits that aren’t. To summarise, keep analysing, testing and improving while being patient with the process. It's easy to boost your LinkedIn event's attendance! Here’s how… 5 steps to invite guests & promote events you are speaking at: 1 - Check and confirm the invitation request you have been sent to be a speaker at the event (if applicable) 2 - Manually copy and paste the event link to share in messages, emails, etc. to family, friends, and colleagues 3 - Repost the event on your LinkedIn feed and tag people/companies you will talk about or colleagues you will be speaking with. 4 - Use the share and invite feature to invite people in your network who may be interested in the event. 5 - Bonus! Get your company to promote the event on their website, email list, and LinkedIn account. (I created this video for a client, Automation Ladies, but is still applicable to events you are hosting or have been invited to speak at)
