Even though I no longer work for this company, Shaun was my District Manager and I will always have respect for Shaun. I have nothing bad or disrespectful to say about the company either. The company is a very respectful place to work at / for.

Becoming friends with Tamika Catchings, WNBA star and 4 time Olympic gold medalist had reminded me of a really important philosophy. “Treat the unimportant importantly.”
We have all heard, “Treat the janitor like the CEO,” but what does that look like?
To me, it’s taking a grocery cart from the corral, so that the person collecting the carts (usually someone with a lesser role) has one less shopping cart to bring inside. I need one anyways. So why not help out where I can. It’s also returning your cart to the corral when you are finished with it. I am sure the person who has to collect the carts would appreciate not having to walk all over collecting carts that people just leave at their parking space. It’s the little things. You can say you treat the janitor like the CEO, but what do your actions say?
Tamika lives these values every day. She doesn’t use her status to get an advantage. Instead she focuses on the underserved in the Indianapolis area. She treats everyone with human respect and kindness.
What do you do to show you appreciate the insignificant people you run into on a daily basis? Your character will reveal the truth.

Heard this phrase on a podcast the other day and it stuck with me:
Being consistent is key indicator of success. No consistency does not GUARANTEE success however if you fail to be consistent, then you can guarantee you won’t find success.

Humans are wired to achieve, and celebrating our successes along the way is key to staying motivated. It's important to recognize MILE MARKER WINS, not just the big finales. Showing appreciation for hard work is a non-negotiable love language that we all share.
I was reminded of this recently when I had the pleasure of honoring some culinary heroes at San Antonio's Zoo La La. Witnessing people's hard work pay off reinforced the idea that we all strive for success, day in and day out.
Remember that a sales conversation, a meeting, an epiphany, or helping a colleague are all MILE MARKER WINS. Yes, the big wins like graduations, trophies, upgrades, awards, new logos, and funding are important too, but celebrating the smaller milestones along the way can help us get there quicker and with more enthusiasm.
So let's take a moment to appreciate and celebrate all the MILE MARKER WINS we achieve each day!

You have to look beyond experience and see peoples potential.
I didn’t have any dental or receptionist experience before starting my career in dentistry. I had a PM that saw my potential and was perhaps a little desperate!
My previous employers are now my clients. Previous colleagues community members, bar 1!
A dentist who wasn’t very nice to me, didn’t recognise me at a trade show once, and asked me to help him find a new practice. After I reminded him that I’d worked with him (for 2 years) he remembered me as the ‘fat one’ and congratulated me on my weight loss (yuk). I really wasn’t looking for his acceptance or approval over my apperance and it’s so weird to comment on people’s weight, please don’t do that. He then said that I learnt it all from him and I think he genuinely believed that. He didn’t pass the vibe check unfortunately and didn’t make the ‘cut’ to become a ‘diamond’ dental staff community member.
Character, commitment, passion, and drive are worth so much more in many cases. When I am completing my interviews, this is what I’m looking for. It’s helped me align people with the right opportunities and work with practices that know how to nurture and develop peoples skills. That, to me, is leadership.
Thanks for sharing and congratulations Stuart Machin
Story telling is a great way to engage, inspire, and influence people. This for me is a great example of employer branding. Just read the comments from M&S team members across all roles. People connect with people, real people, who have shared a similar journey as them.
I love success stories! And I’d love to see Intheflow HQ stocked at Marks and Spencer 🤞🏽
Kent is my home county. It's where I was born and raised, and it's where I first started my career.
I always remember the local newspaper the Kent Messenger - and they recently got in touch to ask some questions about my career so far.

When Peter Linke mentioned this during our team meeting, I somehow related to it.
He said the role of a Sales team is to sell dreams and the role of a Service team is to fix nightmares.
What he exactly meant was for successful teamwork to be possible, clear and defined goals as well as team objectives need to be shared between Sales & Service teams. If they aren’t aligned and don’t share a common goal blunder is bound to happen.
Many of you must have personally experienced this how a project fails if your Sales & Service teams are not going hand in hand. Although their roles are completely different from each other many consider Sales roles as simple and Service roles as cumbersome.
According to me, Sales teams are often self motivated but Service teams needs motivation time to time!
How do you see these teams, their roles are not comparable but definitely important for successful implementation 💪
