Today our team Imperial Brands Science (Erika Grandolfo, Layla Malt, Matthew Stevenson, Sarah Weaver, Dr. Thomas Nahde) with Ian Fearon published a NEW systematic scoping review exploring the potential contribution of TOBACCO FREE NICOTINE POUCHES (TFNPs) to Tobacco Harm Reduction. We report that: - TFNPs contain significantly fewer and lower levels of harmful chemicals, have a reduced toxicological impact, and may convey lower health risks compared to smoking. -The population health benefit appears positive; however, the apparent lack of appeal to nicotine non‑users and youth needs to be monitored to maintain vigilance and further assess the population health benefit. 📚 Exciting News! 📚 I am thrilled to share my first publication for 2024! 🎉 In this study, we delved into the intricate world of electronic nicotine products and their impact on periodontal health among adults in the United States. 🚭 Despite the common perception of e-cigarettes being safer, our research reveals that they still pose health risks, particularly in relation to periodontal health. 🦷 🔬 Our study explored associations between ENDS use patterns and periodontal health, using a nationally representative sample.
