A report from last year sheds light the concerning discrepancies we are seeing in substance use trends. According to the American Medical Association’s Overdose Epidemic Report 2023, opioid prescriptions have decreased for the 13th consecutive year, while overdose and death related to illicitly manufactured fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine have increased.
