Do our publicly stated VALUES truly matter? Organisations fervently promote them publicly, seeking consensus. But do they live by these values or are they just good "words"? When approached by an organisation, I'm eager to delve into their values. Do they align with mine? Are they genuinely practiced. Does the workplace see them as important? Are they just words behind the reception desk? Today, I see flourishing organisations authentically live by their values, broadcasting their ethos both within and beyond proudly. Embracing generic values may not differentiate or inspire (think: integrity, passion, accountability, diversity and more). And a word of caution: Going against stated values can inflict severe damage both internally and externally. #values #valuesdriven #valuesbasedleadership #purposefulbusiness #purposefulbusiness
