🙏 Gratitude 🙏   After more than a decade, I'm bidding farewell to my current role here at Product Innovation and Customer Experience (#PIX) in Deutsche Telekom's Technology and Innovation (#VTI) board area (spoiler: I am not leaving Deutsche Telekom 😉). It's been an incredible journey so far - filled with growth, learning, and unforgettable experiences. If there's one emotion encapsulating how I feel now that parting is only 24 hours away it's gratitude.   Most importantly, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to work with, learn from and eventually become friends with so many brilliant people. It's hard to imagine a better place to generate true customer impact while at the same time being exposed to so many opportunities for learning and growth. Building and launching a multi-million user app from ground up (#ConnectApp), establishing one of the first actionable machine learning based data products at scale in broadband (#PredictiveMaintenance), pushing the boundaries of telco customer engagement by standing on the shoulders of giants (#OneApp), building and working closely with incredibly talented teams across the whole globe (#India), being exposed to an energizing community of talents via #TalentHub (Inge Rader), finding a home in a community pushing #productexcellence (Tibor Megyeri)… I could easily continue the list. In a nutshell: Thank you #DeutscheTelekom for constantly providing places to #QuestionTodayandCreateTomorrow   I'll cherish the memories made and the connections formed up until now and can't wait to open the next chapter of my journey within Deutsche Telekom. Have you made an excuse recently when you could have offered a more positive solution? ▪️I had a funny interaction with SoftBank yesterday. They had suggested they would do some work for us around the 6th December, only to 3 days later amend that to January 27th. No apologies, just a throwaway remark “it’s NTT not us”. ▫️Another example. A candidate was recently rejected for taking a more blame-y stance to difficult questions in an interview. There was much more of a focus on external factors than what the candidate was capable of doing in spite of those challenges. OK. This is a bit of a rant, but isn’t it better to rethink how we message around difficult situations and experiences? ▪️For the candidate - step back and assess: - What did you do in that difficult situation? - How did you handle the difficulties of your last position? - How did you help clients, colleagues, leaders in the face of challenging times? ▫️For SoftBank, surely there was an opportunity there to offer to look again at the request and see how an earlier arrangement could be made? Success comes when you take responsibility. See if you can take responsibility next time you feel the urge to make an excuse. 𝗡𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗘𝗢 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 saying, “We didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost.” Below are the Key Lessons you should learn from Nokia Failure and Implement. 🔻 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱? ✅ During the last press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia CEO ended his speech by saying “we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. ✅ Upon saying that, all his management team, himself included ended up crying. 🔻 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱? ✅ Nokia didn’t do anything wrong in their business, however, the world changed too fast. ✅ They missed out on learning, they missed out on changing, and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big. ✅ Not only did they miss the opportunity to earn big profits, but they also lost their chance of survival. 🔻 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻? ✅ The key lesson of this story is, if you don’t change, you shall be dismissed from the competition. ✅ It’s not wrong if you don’t want to learn new things. However, if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time, you will be eliminated. ✅ The advantage you have yesterday, will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. ✅ You don’t have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT, you can lose out and fail. ✅ To change and improve yourself is to give yourself a second chance. ✅ Those who refuse to learn and improve, will definitely one day become redundant and not relevant to the industry. 2012, I joined "To get a fresh perspective", which resonated with me; I switched industries from Telco to pure IT. I liked the company's vibe—a young organisation with incredible growth plans. When I joined the team in Cluj, we were around 150. Now the office has more than 1500. 2013 "Grow your talent, create your future". As soon as I discovered that growing organisations have infinite opportunities, I started to be more intentional in building my career in Endava. I stepped from a purely recruiter role and started to run L&D programmes, quickly transitioning into a Head of People Development and Recruitment role. My talent was valued and encouraged, having the right support and challenge to evolve. 2017's "Be More" campaign focused on the impact in our communities and how you can contribute and support initiatives for a better world. Personally, I started to be involved in volunteering initiatives, from environment to education. 2020 "Reimagining the relationship between people and technology" kicked off in the pandemic and taught us how critical digitalisation is. In a context when everything started to be remote and online, bridging technology and people was essential. For me, it meant switching gears and focusing more on our close-to-client operations. It meant stepping outside my comfort zone and flying half the globe. In 2024, our rebranding campaign will return to our core purpose and values. It is all about people and connections. And this is what kept me in Endava for more than 12 years. I had leaders who challenged me and offered their support to help me grow and build my career. Big Changes, Big Dreams, and a Heart Full of Hope 🌟🌱 So, here's the big news: After 10 amazing years at Deutsche Telekom MMS, I'm saying goodbye 👋. It's been a journey full of learning, growing, and yes, lots of tech talk! But more than anything, I've made memories and friendships ❤️ that I'll cherish forever. Now, why the change? Well, I'm heading to Sweden 🇸🇪, and I'm buzzing with excitement 🚀 (and, okay, a little bit of nervous energy too 😅). My plan? To dive into Product Management & Consultancy with a twist – I want to make sure what we do in tech isn't just cool and cutting-edge, but also kind to our planet and each other. I believe in a world where technology brings us closer to nature rather than pushing us away. Where our innovations improve life not just for us humans, but for all the living beings we share this planet with. And that's the dream I'm chasing 🌈.
