Just finished the course “How to Give Feedback People Can Actually Use” by American Negotiation Institute and Kwame Christian! Check it out: https://lnkd.in/eVnNadCZ #interpersonalcommunication #constructivefeedback. It's important to have both ways conversation for any feedback and important to put ourselve in other people shoes by listening and checking whether people are prepare and ready to listen instead of straight talking. It would be nice to clarify any good intentions first at the beginning of conversation as this tool will help us avoid any assumpsation or misundertanding and interpretation. Always remember the impact that we leave to other is more on either we stand with fixed mindset or growth mindset.

Just finished "How to Give Feedback People Can Actually Use" by American Negotiation Institute , and Kwame Christian! I really liked some of the pointers she gave, especially towards the concept of feedback being more of an empathy exercise and at the end about the 2 employees that succesfully got promoted. I think this course is worth checking it out, and you can do it here at: https://lnkd.in/eh4NNzUw #interpersonalcommunication, #constructivefeedback.

https://lnkd.in/gc9_8MFK Just listened to this great HBR episode on the 3 types of #feedback (appreciation, coaching, negotiation) and methods for effectively delivering them🎙 Here are a few points I found insightful: 🌱 When someone requests feedback ask them what they would find most helpful - "Do you want me to share what I love about your work? Would you like some coaching or advice? Or do you want to know where you stand?" 🏆A sense of progress is highly motivating, so start by offering feedback on medium-lift items that your team member can begin realizing results towards within several weeks (then follow-up with heavier-lift suggestions) ♻️ Close each feedback conversation by asking your team member to recap their top 3 takeaways & schedule a follow-up sync to touch base on their progress

I attempted to visualize one takeaway from Kevin Wilde's book Coachability on how to take feedback. As an experienced #leader or a #pharmacist with years of experience receiving feedback from your preceptors and supervisors, you might say... "been there, done that. I'm open to #feedback and receive it as a gift that helps me to improve and become a better ______ (paste yours)." But check with yourself next time what really happens in your head when you hear the feedback. Do you listen to your inner voice chatter? Are you thinking of excuses or becoming defensive towards the one providing you the feedback? Here is an excellent idea from the theater world described in a book! Actors constantly receive feedback from their directors and must work to incorporate it into their work. They take it as an opportunity to strengthen their work. Therefore, they are trained to take notes. What if we started taking notes and reflecting on what was said rather than subconsciously going into a defense mode and fighting with our inner voice chatter during the conversation? Stay curious! JP Elliott, PhD, grateful for the book recommendation 🙏

Professional coaching for team leaders ⭐ Level Up Your Team ⭐ Leadership skills training ⭐ Quality of Life at Work
❓This week, during a coffee break at a professional training session: "Has it ever happened to you to have to deal with very difficult groups?" 🤔 I ask this participant what might constitute a very difficult group ? A group in which no one answers questions , or a group with negative, hostile, confrontational individuals; he says. 🔑 I respond that yes, indeed, I have encountered such situations. His question prompts me to reflect, both in the moment and afterward. He is reflecting on how to manage a group and seeks to learn more about my experiences. 😨When I started as a professional trainer, the idea of having to manage these potential situations stressed me out. 🤗 Today, I have enough confidence to let go of controlling possible behaviors within a group and to welcome everything that may happen with kindness. I also have the confidence and experience to know how to leverage the dynamics co-created by the group itself, facilitating interactions that positively influence this overall dynamic. 👉 The need for control is entirely human and natural. 👉It is often overvalued, misplaced, or limiting. Life still presents me with situations where I learn finding a fair place to my need of control... It is not easy. ❔ And you, as a professional, what have you learned from experience about letting go of control? How do you release control when necessary ? And how do you gain confidence to act on what depends on you? Want to learn more ? Listen to this podcast https://lnkd.in/eAwBzWqP from #Level_Up_Your_Team partner Sophie Le Dorner to learn about more about letting go control as a learning leader. #professionalcoaching #facilitation #team #professionaltraining #bodyandmind
