Linkedin Book Club Sunday Interview #2 with Bob Burg.
( Inspired by the The New York Times Sunday book review & The Wall Street Journal weekend review supplements.
This week Bob Burg co-author (with John David Mann ) of the business parable, The Go-Giver and author/co-author of a number of other books on sales and communication skills.
We caught up with Bob and asked him a few book related questions:
📚 What books are on your night stand?
I don’t have a night stand. I do have a very large home library. My home is pretty much comprised of books…with some scattered furniture. :-)
📚 How do you organize your books?
Typically by subject.
📚 Describe your ideal reading experience ( when, where, what, how).
Ideal reading experiences can happen pretty much everywhere, whether in a comfortable chair at home, in the car at a stoplight, while eating dinner alone at a restaurant, etc. I cannot think of a whole lot of places where reading would not be an ideal experience.
📚 What's the best book you have received as a gift?
The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer, gifted to me by my dear friend and business collaborator, Kathy Tagenel. (All of his books are magnificent, though I believe his latest one, Living Untethered, is actually his best one yet!
📚 If someone was going to buy you a book, what book would you choose?
If there was a book I knew I wanted I would already have bought it. :-)
📚 What is your favorite book? ( I can allow 3 max )
That depends on so many things, and there’s really no way I could legitimately come up with just one (or three, or ten) that would be an overall favorite in every context.
But if I have to choose one, it is The Secret of Selling Anything by Harry Browne. (By the way, the “secret” he is referring to in the book’s title is to “find out what people want and help them get it.”)
📚 What do you plan to read next?
The Twelve Universal Laws of Success by Dr. Herbert Harris
📚 You're organizing a dinner party. Which three authors, dead or alive do you invite?
- Benjamin Franklin
- Mark Twain
- Harry Browne.
