What does a remote recruitment process actually look like? 🤔 Many of us have a certain image of a traditional job interview stuck in our heads: Two recruiters sitting behind a table in an office with the candidate right in front of them. The latter one is stressed out and nervous, trying to answer the recruiters' questions in the best way possible. Most people cringe immediately when they think about their first job interview. Do you remember yours? 😟 While remote work may not be able to take the stress out of the equation completely, it can certainly streamline and simplify many aspects of recruitment. Obviously, only if you do it the right way. Where does a remote recruitment process come from? It isn’t by any means a completely new thing. Online recruitment forms to be filled out by candidates, sending CVs by e-mail, or conducting first rounds of interviews by phone were and still are standard practice. Being invited to the meeting in the office usually means that we are nearing the end of the recruitment process. Of course, it varies depending on the type of position we are applying for, but at least one interview conducted face-to-face is usually necessary. 👨👩👧👦 Anyway, what about all those remote-first companies out there? In this case, it’s obvious that there will be no in-office meeting as such a place simply doesn’t exist. That is exactly where remote recruitment steps in. Recruiting candidates without physical contact or face-to-face meetings has become quite common within the past few years. Consequently, we can implement a plethora of tools and tricks to make the process significantly easier.⚒️ Read about the tools to hire remotely in my informative blog. https://lnkd.in/diF66RUc #remotework #hybridwork #futureofwork #remoteworking

The survey also shows that business leaders believe the hybrid model is key to optimizing the triple bottom line of people, profits, and the planet – and it’s here to stay. 😍 The bottom line for business leaders is that hybrid working brings multiple benefits for their organizations – and they are committed to it for the long term. 🤑 This is the message that came loud and clear from the inaugural IWG US CEO State of Hybrid Working Survey. Nearly two-thirds of CEOs who have adopted hybrid working at their organization believe that hybrid is the future of work, and three out of four expect their company will still be hybrid five years from now. 👏 The hybrid model, in which employees divide their time between a local, flexible workspace, a central HQ, and a home, already allows millions of people around the world to work how and where they feel most fulfilled and most productive. 😎 These are challenging economic times for CEOs: around the world, core inflation remains high, borrowing is expensive, and labor markets are tight. More than three-quarters (76%) of CEOs in the study say their company has been impacted by these factors over the past twelve months, with almost one-fifth saying this has had a significant impact. Almost all (90%) CEOs say they have reduced costs by adopting hybrid working. It is a significant way to cut spending, with potential savings of 89%of CEOs saying hybrid working is a key tool in achieving savings targets. 💥 Find out how to manage and motivate a remote and hybrid teams in my book “How to Tackle Hybrid Working.” https://lnkd.in/dy4fXE49 #remotework #hybridwork #futureofwork #remoteworking

Hybrid work is on the rise, as employers worldwide are increasingly embracing this flexible approach. However, getting it right is key. Crafting an exceptional employee experience in a hybrid work environment demands thoughtful planning and consideration, much like designing an intuitive and user-friendly website. ⚒️ The key to successful hybrid work is not just about offering flexibility, but also about creating a purposeful and user-centric office space that caters to employees' needs. 🤔 By understanding the nature of the business, employees' working preferences, and staying updated with market trends, employers can take a proactive role in shaping the future of work. Summoning employees back to office spaces that were designed decades ago does not provide much value. Forcing individuals to work in cubicles for tasks that could be done elsewhere is not the ideal approach. 😶 Employing power dynamics to force employees into a specific choice is disheartening. Instead, companies should be deliberate about creating an office experience that aligns with modern digital collaboration principles and meets people's expectations. 😎 Read more about how to create the optimal hybrid workplace in my blog. https://lnkd.in/edVSCeyH #remotework #hybridwork #futureofwork #remoteworking

According to Robert Half, hybrid arrangements are not just a trend, but a strategic move towards the future of remote work, offering a balance between productivity and flexibility that can significantly benefit both employers and employees. 😍 Employers facing hiring challenges in today’s labor market have a powerful tool at their disposal-flexible work arrangements. 💥 By offering and promoting these arrangements, they cannot only attract top talent but also retain their current workforce, enhancing their employer brand and reputation. 😎 Robert Half’s Demand for Skilled Talent report highlights a significant shift in job seekers' preferences, with 60% expressing a desire for hybrid roles, and 37% showing interest in fully remote positions. 🚀 One of the key findings from the Demand for Skilled Talent report is the shift in job postings. Employers are increasingly creating hybrid roles, a trend that is outpacing the hiring for fully remote positions. This shift underscores the changing dynamics of the work environment. 🤩 For example, the research indicated that new, fully in-office job postings declined in 2023 by 14 percentage points. 👍 Find out more in my book “How to Tackle Hybrid Working.” https://lnkd.in/dy-WNTMf #remotework #hybridwork #futureofwork #remoteworking

Have you been wondering what the phenomenon of remote work is since everyone keeps talking about it? Well, let me help you out by sharing 5 reasons why hiring remote workers is an amazing idea. 🤔 Of course, there are more than just these five reasons, but it's definitely a great start! If businesses consider hiring remote workers, they will gain a massive competitive advantage. 😀 Here, I don’t just mean letting current employees work remotely but also considering hiring people from distant talent pools. From a business perspective, the benefits of hiring remote workers definitely outweigh the disadvantages - only if you implement "remote work" as part of your business model, without rushing into it without any preparation. 👍 Additionally, some of its major assets, which we should definitely take into account from a global perspective, are eco-friendliness (massively reduced traffic fumes, which our Earth needs now more than ever!) and the opportunity to give everyone from all around the world a fair chance to work for an amazing company, no matter where they currently live and what their cultural background is. 🌎 Based on many years of work in the HR industry globally, I am absolutely convinced that there are many amazing, talented people in the most distant part of the world, and all of them should be considered to work for world-class companies, as we are now truly entering the digital working era. 😍 Find out more in this short video. https://lnkd.in/dYNqcUSh #remotework #hybridwork #futureofwork #remoteworking

The age group most likely to work remotely are those aged 24 to 35, says Forbes. 👍 Within this demographic, 39% work remotely full time and 25% do so part time. This suggests that the younger workforce values the flexibility and autonomy offered by remote work, which could have implications for businesses looking to attract and retain this talent group. 😀 Education also plays a significant role in remote work accessibility. Those with higher levels of education have a better chance at remote work. 🤓 This could be a consequence of the qualities of roles that necessitate postgraduate qualifications, which usually involve cognitive labor that can be done anywhere. 😍 Find out more about remote and hybrid working in my book “How to Tackle Hybrid Working.” https://lnkd.in/dy-WNTMf #remotework #hybridwork #futureofwork #remoteworking

Every remote-first company must have a remote playbook, guidebook, or policy. Hybrid teams need it as well. Without it, everything becomes chaotic. Trust me, I know what I'm saying. 🤓 The market offers numerous tools, various working preferences, and different team expectations. Remote working laws also vary by country. A remote work policy ensures scalability and transparency, allowing the whole team to collaborate effectively. This significantly impacts productivity, results, and the overall working experience. And that's exactly what we must measure for constant improvement! 🤩 🔆No. 1 Define the goal of the policy: I’ve seen various remote work policies, some basic and some exceptional. The key is to define the goal and understand the needs of the employees. 🔆No. 2 Consider these elements: 🚀The legal & compliance aspect – Who can work remotely? Any special documents needed? Time and location limits? What’s the application process? 🚀Synchronous collaboration – Virtual meeting guidelines? Immediate response expectations? Tools used? 🚀Asynchronous collaboration – Team-wide expectations and communication rules? Streamlining tools? Message writing guidelines? 🚀The toolkit – Group tools by purpose. What tool is used for what? Integrations? 🚀Deep work – Should team members block their calendars for deep work? Keeping status updated in communication apps? Staying in touch? 🚀Logistics – Determining overlap hours for different time zones? Project management? Assigning responsibilities? 🚀Documentation – Finding the right information? Documenting important information? Knowledge base for distributed teams to stay updated.
