New Graduate Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery | Innovative Leader | Nurse Mentor | Open to Networking | Open for Collaboration
New Graduate Nurses Applying to Jobs is not Easy Applying to jobs as a new grad nurse can be challenging. From the excitement of finishing school to the uncertainty of landing that first position, here are some insights to help you navigate this process: 🌸 It’s Not Easy: Let’s be real—finding your first nursing job takes time and perseverance. Don’t get discouraged if you face rejection along the way. Applying to jobs can feel like a full-time job itself. It requires attention to detail and dedication to tailor your applications to each unique opportunity. 🌸 Set Realistic Expectations: You won’t land every job you apply for, and that’s okay. Set yourself up for success by understanding this reality from the outset. 🌼 Tips for Success: 🌼 Craft Intentional Applications: Tailor your cover letter and resume for each position. Research the role and use specific language from the job description. Avoid Generic Skills Lists: Instead, highlight skills relevant to the specific job. 🌼 Seek Feedback: Find mentors who can provide valuable feedback on your application materials. 🌼 Early Preparation: Start working on your cover letter and resume early to refine them over time. When writing your professional summary, avoid using "I" statements and focus on your professional attributes and achievements. 🌼 Act Promptly: Once you see job applications open, jump right into applying. Don’t hesitate—seize the opportunity. If you have the chance to schedule screenings with recruiters, do it sooner rather than later to secure your slot. 🔴 Use LinkedIn as a Resource: Leverage LinkedIn not only to follow hospitals and stay updated on application dates but also to identify hiring managers. Review their profiles and potential opportunities within their teams. Craft a solid message that succinctly mentions key points about your interest and qualifications. While there's no guarantee it will always work, reaching out proactively can open doors and increase your visibility. Remember, the possibility of making meaningful connections is always there. Remember, every application and interview is a learning experience that brings you closer to your goal. Stay determined and keep refining your approach. #NewGradNurse #JobSearchTips #NursingCareer #CareerAdvice #ResumeTips #CoverLetter #InterviewPreparation #NursingJobs #NewGradResidency #StaffNurse #NewRN #Nursetransition

CEO & Founder of Polonsky & Associates Inc. | Healthcare Recruitment | Nursing Leadership | Talent Acquisition 🏥 👩⚕️ 👨⚕️
🤔 how to answer, “are you interviewing at other companies?” I really like how Erin at Advice with Erin handles this question. (check out below or read my commentary on it) 👇 https://lnkd.in/dszUCNJk When a company/interviewer asks, "Are you interviewing/looking anywhere else?" 🤨 You want to make sure you don’t look like you aren’t taking your job search seriously or being considered by saying, "no" and you don’t want to turn them off and not feel they are important by saying "yes" in a certain way. We advise our clients to respond with, "While I am particularly interested in this role and truly believe this is a fantastic fit, I am exploring opportunities at similar companies. Yes, I am considering roles at other companies, but to be fully transparent with you this is my number one priority." 😊 This way you reiterate to them this role is one you really want, but you have other options. With the right tone you are conveying you are an in-demand professional with lots of options. People have an aversion to loss so this answer can land very well. As I always say, "your goal is to always put yourself in the best position possible to get a job offer. Do what you can to keep things moving forward and as quickly as possible." ☝ This answer fits into my philosophy very well and you can use this principle to apply to other situations. 😊 #healthcarerecruitment #leadershiphiring #healthcarerecruiting #healthcareleadership #healthcarestaffing #recruitmentindustry #recruitmentjobs #registerednurse #nursing #nursingleadership #talentacquisition #recruitment #rn #nurses #hospital
