"It's a tough trade... I'm being asked to make a decision about the next 3-5 years of my career, based on 15 hours of getting to know the company." One of my CMO candidates said this recently. Which of these topics grab you the most? 🔷 What information should a good SaaS CMO find out before saying yes to a job and how and when to find that out? 🔷 How to balance efficiency and thoroughness with hiring and getting hired? 🔷 Understanding the risks that companies feel they are taking when recruiting CMOs 🔷 The anatomy of a successful CMO finalist presentation 🔷 Flaws in decision making to avoid What other questions around this topic are you eager to have us address? $60,000 (SDR, 23) -> $200,000 (AE, 26) -> How'd I do it? As an SDR, I became obsessed with mastering the basics like being the fastest to respond to leads, overcoming rejection, and nailing email copy. Eventually, I developed my own system that allowed me to stay at the top of the leaderboard quarter-over-quarter. This led to a promotion into a closing role. The shift was difficult, but I immersed myself in books, podcasts, and practice to exponentially improve with each deal I ran. It took a lot of repetition and great mentorship from leaders to get comfortable. A big part of the journey boils down to picking the right companies. This is critical to hitting the earning targets you want. Want help finding a great one? Here are the top companies to sell at HIRING right now: https://bit.ly/3wvryWZ

Founder of Creator Science — helping creators get a higher return on attention. Studying others, running experiments, and sharing it all with 60,000+ readers!
One of the most important aspects of being a creator, yet few talk about it… Hiring. To be honest, part of the draw toward being a creator was the belief I could avoid both management and hiring! And for a while, I did. But as the business has grown, it's become abundantly clear that to achieve the potential of this business, I need to hire. Hiring allows you to spend more of your time in YOUR zone of genius while allowing someone else to do the things outside of that zone better than you can! So this week, I'm speaking with Angus Parker, the General Manager for Ali Abdaal. Angus has helped Ali build the dream team behind his YouTube empire. Together, they've reached 120 million views while generating more than $5 million in revenue this year alone. I've heard both Angus and Ali mention that they've made some hiring mistakes themselves – namely, hiring too many people too quickly. So I wanted to ask Angus what he believes TODAY when it comes to hiring. So in this episode, you'll learn: • How you need to think about hiring • What positions you should hire first • Mistakes that you need to avoid • And a hot take that some people might not like 📌 Links in the comments below
