Hard to believe it has been 10 years since the ALS community took the internet by storm with its Ice Bucket Challenge. If you are interested in helping us recapture the magic, consider joining our CEO Soak in Tampa Bay (Sept. 19) , Jacksonville (Sept. 10), Tallahassee (Oct. 22), Pensacola (Oct. 1) or Huntsville (July 18). Or, you can recreate it old style right in your own backyard. #icebucket10 The ALS Association

🌟 Empowering Communities: Bridging the Gap Between Corporations and Non-Profits 🌟 As professionals, we often find ourselves deeply committed to fostering positive change in our communities. Today, I want to share a vision that holds immense potential for impact: the powerful collaboration between corporations and non-profit organizations. Regardless of our roles within our respective companies, we possess the ability to forge meaningful partnerships that can uplift and empower those in need. If there's a non-profit you deeply resonate with, take a moment to envision the transformative impact that could be achieved by joining forces. For me, that organization is Cradles To Crayons Inc, specifically their Philadelphia Chapter. Their dedication to providing essential resources and educational support to children in need resonates deeply, particularly in a city like Philadelphia, where over 300,000 children grapple with poverty. It's crucial to recognize that these children are not just statistics; they are the future of our community. By empowering them with the tools they need to thrive, we're investing in a brighter tomorrow for everyone. So, I urge you: if there's a cause close to your heart, don't hesitate to reach out. Forge connections between your company and the non-profit sector. Together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change that reverberates far beyond our individual efforts. Let's work hand in hand to build a future where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Together, we can make a difference. 💫 #CommunityEmpowerment #CorporateSocialResponsibility #PartnershipsThatMatter https://lnkd.in/dw4VTbUs

Being educated and aware of Stroke symptoms can help save a life.

In 2023 Hayden Homes presented a check to SAO for $100,000 representing a four-year commitment of funding to the organization. As a Stroke Awareness Oregon Board Member, our board and executive team are grateful to Hayden Homes, title sponsor, for their support of SAO helping bring Randy and Mary Travis to Central Oregon. “This event is a chance to raise awareness and much-needed funds to help prevent others from being impacted or losing their loved ones to the heartbreaking effects of stroke," said Deborah Flagan , vice president of community engagement and giving with Hayden Homes. It's official! The Trust for Civic Life has launched! An exciting day for folks building civic infrastructure, particularly in rural communities. From Hollie Russon Gilman, Ph.D.: The Trust is a new philanthropic collaborative and learning network with a simple mission: support local efforts that bring residents together to solve challenges they decide are most critical for their community to thrive. In times of polarization, we believe this is one critical step in the process of rebuilding trust in each other and forging a deeper democracy. https://lnkd.in/gQwUbPPH #democracy

Consider helping us end the year strong. Take a look at this brief story to see what happens when we are not tied up in disaster response!
While we often post about disaster response, Compassion United currently uses one of our shower units in its homeless mission in Conroe. Below is a video that talks about that effort. Missions on Wheels has a unique mission because we offer our trailers to local community non-profits for roughly the mobilization costs. By comparison, a commercially available rental could be several thousand dollars a week. This is possible through YOUR giving and company match. We are registered with many corporate foundations, so check yours or contact us at donation@missionsonwheels.org to get set up!

National Volunteer Week (April 21-27) Serving in your #community and #volunteering are powerful ways to make a positive impact on the world around you. By dedicating your time and skills to helping others, you can create meaningful change, foster connections and contribute to the well-being of those in need. While National Volunteer Week kicks off April 21, VA invites everyone in the community to explore ways to give back to Veterans any time of the year. In addition, #Veterans can explore volunteer opportunities as part of VetServe 2024, which encourages Veterans to become volunteers to support other Veterans. On April 24, 2024, join #VA in supporting a National Day of Service through VetServe 2024. #VetServe is a celebration of service and a call-to-action aimed to encourage the nation’s 19 million Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors to serve in their community. Did you know 🤷♂️ 🙌In Fiscal Year 2023, 25,403 active volunteers contributed more than 3.2 million hours of service to Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors at VA medical facilities across the country. Additionally, these individuals, along with community partners generously donated more than $81.1 million to VA, supporting critical programs and essential services that have a lasting and positive impact on Veterans. 🤯 There were 25,403 volunteers on VA’s rolls during FY 2023, contributing a total of more than 3.2 million hours of service. It would require 1,565 Full Time Equivalents (FTE) to cover the workload of CDCE volunteers. 🎯#CDCE volunteers and their organizations contributed more than $81.1 million in gifts and donations in FY 2023 for a combined total value of over $112.4 million in volunteer service and giving. 🤜🤛Monetary estimates aside, it is impossible to calculate the amount of caring and sharing these CDCE volunteers provide to Veteran patients. #NationalVolunteerWeek #VA #Volunteers #Community #VetServe
