Internal Communications Leader @ Cisco Networking | Ragan Employee Comms 3x Award Winner | C-level Executive Communications | Internal Communications | Employee Engagement

Who's going to the Ragan Employee Experience Conference in Nashville this August? 🤠 I’ve been invited to speak about one of my favorite topics — Elevating Your Town Hall Strategy (!!!) Three years ago I joined Cisco to build internal communications programs for one of our largest engineering organizations. Revamping our town halls has been a big part of that. …and yes I’m totally anxious/excited/nervous about speaking in front of hundreds of people. Very excited. But also nervous. If you’re interested in strategies to transform dry town halls to dynamic, engaging events — whether in-person, hybrid, or virtual — I hope you’ll come! Here's the link: https://lnkd.in/gp_S5kZN (Message me for the discount code) I attended this conference in Chicago in 2021 and learned from many great speakers. I can't wait to learn from speakers like Cat Colella-Graham, Ann Barlow, Nicole Bernard, Jenny DeVaughn, and many others. Huge thanks to Justin J. and Alyssa Smith at Ragan Communications and PR Daily for inviting me to present! And Cisco Networking's Stephen Liu and Sarah Halper for your constant supportive leadership of our executive communications team. If you made it this far, let me know in the comments if you have any ✨ calming ✨ public speaking tips. I’d love to hear your advice on what has worked for you. #LoveWhereYouWork #WeAreCisco #RaganSpeaker #RaganEvents

Congratulations on the invitation to speak! I have always found that preparing my own material (hard to cover others sides) and mentally going through it frequently before speaking makes me the most relaxed speaker. I know it is obvious, but that's all it takes - you're going to be great!

So thrilled for you! I find that sequestering myself to a quiet area for a brief minute, closing my eyes doing some deep breathing, and then asking myself what my intention for myself and the audience is—in a word—centers me. Congrats on this major recognition!

You’re the best at what you do! Have some fun with this and enjoy the moment! Gonna rock it!

You are going to do great! Just don’t drink any sparkling beverages before you go up…nobody wants to burp on stage 😂
