Did you know that ADA Compliance is fine-tuned down to the type of paint spec? An ADA-compliant parking lot is essential to provide accessibility and equal opportunities for everyone. It should meet the standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which includes the required number of accessible parking spaces, proper signage, and markings. Additionally, the surface of the parking lot should be even and free of tripping hazards. If you're unsure about the compliance of your parking lot, it's always a good idea to consult with an expert. Contact us today and get your property to Elite Status anywhere in the US. info@elitepavinggroup.com | 833.77.ELITE | sales@elitepavinggroup.com #construction #projectmanagement #asphalt #asphaltpaving #paving #pavement #parkinglot #blacktop #roadconstruction #concrete #concreteconstruction #asphaltsealcoating #sealcoating #striping #asphaltmaintenance #cracksealing #crackfilling #commercial #roadwork #parkinglotmaintenance #facilities #facilitymanagement #parkinglots #facilitiesmanagement #propertymanagement #propertymanager #concretepour #parkinglotpaving #commercialpaving #sidewalk #asphaltmaintenance #drainage #slope #foundation #womenofasphalt

It’s a Friday so that must mean another Tier 1 chief goes. Today it’s Paul Hamer from Sir Robert McAlpine (last Friday it was Matt Blowers from ISG). New man is ex Lendlease boss Neil Martin. Big question will be: will the rejig last spring now be junked? Does seem odd that the architect of major surgery at the business has gone just eight months later. McAlpine, remember, ditched regions in favour of sectors. Quite a few clients were unconvinced by it all. With the new man, perhaps McAlpine might start to appear on bid lists again. Can’t remember the last time I wrote a story and their name was in the mix. Some big jobs have come and gone and SRM not in the mix at all. That baffled quite a few, given their pedigree. You don’t bring someone new in for more of the same. And, more widely, the moves at the top (SRM, ISG etc) undoubtedly signal a nervousness among shareholders/owners that things haven’t been working and something needed to change. #contracting feels like it’s at a crossroads at the moment. https://lnkd.in/ecT7uvMw

Great to see that low cost, simple yet innovative solutions are being recognised by the Health and Safety Executive as part of their campaign within Construction 👏🏻 #manualhandling #construction #wellbeing #simplesolutions
An inspector recently observed this example of good working practice on a large new build construction site in Liverpool during our moving and handling materials campaign. Wooden dolly trolleys like this one can be bought for as little as £20 and are ideal for moving various kinds of materials and goods around the workplace. Carpet fitters were using this one to move rolls of carpet around the site, reducing the need for lifting, bending, and over-stretching, therefore reducing the risks of developing musculoskeletal disorders over time. EDIT: This post has been edited due to poorly worded first attempt lol! 🤩 Love this. However…… What happens when this collapses, topples over or breaks causing an injury to an individual? Will the HSE then hammer the business for not carrying out inspection and maintenance on a device used to manouvre and support a load? Will they ask to see the PUWER / LOLER (some of these trolleys have jacks and lift mechanisms) records for the equipment. Will they challenge the companies using them to show the training and competence management records for this item of equipment? I am all for simplification and the adoption of risk reduction when manual handling But sometimes…. People use equipment laying around work sites and areas to make their own activities easier… Another inspector with a bee in their bonnet would take a totally different view on this one 🤔🤔🤔

Safety and cost efficiency...a perfect pairing.
Kent Companies introduced the groundbreaking Doka safety screen system to West Michigan for the very first time, debuting it at Studio Park Tower. This system represents a revolutionary advancement in construction safety, rendering the requirement for extra fall protection obsolete, enhancing productivity, and instilling a secure and enclosed sensation, even when working at heights of up to 150 feet.
