Craig Williams, our technical manager going through our internal training set up so that the REID testing process can be rolled out across the whole company when applied to certain critical design and testing data. Our rig has been designed to ensure that all of our technicians fully understand how to use the REID test arm for davit socket testing correctly. This is only a demo stand and will never achieve the full test criteria of of actually testing sockets, but allows us to teach our workforce how to set it up and use it with the STAHT load tester correctly linking pictures with verifiable data that delivers a test certificate. We have put in place a number of test criteria to ensure that the unit does deliver a test that ensures that the davit socket will not fail when an actual load is rotated through 360 degrees. This means that certain lifting principles need to be applied to ensure that the test does truly deliver a result that proves the anchorage strength. In some circumstances this may require more than one test and the selection of the correct resin is critical as many may not provide safety dependent upon the type of hole drilled and this is where technical back up from the resin manufacturer may also be key. But this whole set up makes testing far safer with far less weight needing to be carried around with the tester and calculations that have been verified through the engineering department at REID in conjunction with STAHT digital load testing devices.
