New year, new idea to try on: Anxiety inspires us to creativity and action. It’s our “in it to win it” emotion. -Tracy Dennis-Tiwary, PhD For example, the physical sensations of nervousness and excitement are the same. E.g. butterflies in your stomach. Turns out this can have an enhancing effect(!), if we let it. My tendency is often to fall back on breathing + mindfulness as a brake to slow things down. (That’s probably still a good thing for runaway anxious thoughts and feelings. We can’t function if we’re at a 10/10 stress level.) But what else might we accomplish if we can better harness stress as our brain’s accelerator pedal? #mindset #superpowers ——— I’d love to hear from you. The way we think about stress can greatly impact our body's response to it. Research shows that shifting our mindset from "stress-is-debilitating" to "stress-can-be-enhancing" can reduce the release of cortisol, the stress hormone, and help us return to normal levels quickly. Remember, the next time you face a stressful event, try looking at it as an opportunity for learning and growth. #mindsetmatters #stressmanagement #growthmindset

6moRama Raju, this post really 'butterflies' the stomach with inspiration! Facing unknown situations reminds me of the 'Eat the Frog' strategy – sometimes you just have to swallow the task you're most hesitant about to break free. It's the perfect side dish to the 'Face Your Fears' entrée. Here's to embracing the unfamiliar with a side of humor and gusto! 🐸🦋
