Thanks to the work of the Pyrmont Peninsula Public Transport Forum, Transport for NSW (Transport) has continued investigations into possible adjustments to route 389 in Pyrmont. This is an exciting development as the changes to bus route 389 in the Pyrmont area will address passenger feedback, improve access to Darling Harbour and the Maritime Museum, and provide improved interchange opportunities between bus and light rail services. To accommodate these changes, it is planned to make changes to kerbside parking and loading arrangements on Murray Street north of Pyrmont Bridge Road. Click here for more information from Transport for NSW (include in this link the attached PDF) WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO We need your help as Transport for NSW needs your feedback by 5 pm, Friday 7 June 2024. We need you to: Step 1: write an email supporting this addition of a new bus stop Step 2: send the email to buschanges@transport.nsw.gov.au Step 3: please do this by 5 pm Friday, 7 June 2024

Development without nearby access to rail beit people or goods, is unsustainable. Land is precious, land use and planning should be directed to work for the common good which responsibly takes into account environment, social and economic issues balanced. Alas, we are far from joined-up-thinking or planning. BRTA will continue to add its voice no matter what colour gets elected. Things to help can be done, but politicians for ideological reasons or none, do otherwise. We have to rebuild/new-buil local rail solutions and reopenings and get the tracks going where the main road arterys are like A27, M1, A14 for example. https://lnkd.in/exz6itXr

It's time for a Project Highlight! And this one helps Fort Collins riders get from point A to B — all while still being web accessible. — ABOUT TRANSFORT City of Fort Collins Transfort provides convenient, reliable and affordable transit options for residents and visitors in Fort Collins, Colorado. — BUILT FOR ACCESSIBILITY Transfort needed to rebuild their website to be compliant with the new Colorado accessibility law that goes into effect July 1. So we built them a site that (we hope) is the best and most accessible transportation site in the country. 🤓 1. By nature, transportation routes are complex. Marking up all the tabular data to be usable by a screen reader was a unique challenge! 2. The route table features “earlier," " now” and “later” buttons. And depending on the width of your device's browser, the table will scroll to what you want to see. — LEARN MORE –> Check out the Transfort website at: https://ridetransfort.com/ –> Read up on HB21-1110 at: https://lnkd.in/gJSiUWns #websitedesign #webdevelopment #a11y #fortcollins

A new timetable to be introduced on Sunday, 2 June will see improvements for customers throughout the country, helping to ensure rail remains one of the easiest and sustainable ways to travel. There will be almost 100 additional services each weekday, including trains to new stations at Cameron Bridge and Leven, which form part of the reopening of the Levenmouth rail link. A significant part of the changes sees a completely new timetable structure for Inverclyde, with 30 extra services every weekday, a more frequent service between Glasgow and Wemyss Bay, and better connections between rail and ferry at Gourock. Journey times will improve from North Fife to Edinburgh, while the number of seats provided between the Kingdom and Edinburgh increase from just under 16,000 in each direction each day, to more than 19,000. This will help to deliver opportunities for local people, unlocking access to education, culture, entertainment, and employment opportunities, as well as attracting new business and investment. Further improvements for customers include: • New 0805 Prestonpans to Waverley to increase morning peak capacity for commuters in East Lothian. • More weekend North Berwick services strengthened from four to six carriages. • Glasgow to Neilston, Newton, and Cathcart Circle evening services will increase in frequency from hourly to half hourly. • Glasgow to Alloa evening services will increase in frequency from hourly to half hourly. • 1050 Inverness to Edinburgh and 1033 Edinburgh to Inverness strengthened from three to five carriages on Saturdays, to match what operates Monday to Friday.

The kind of infrastructure projects being discussed are precisely what the nation should focus on. Upgrading our infrastructure is crucial for securing a sustained economic uplift. Specifically, enhancing train facilities to Cardiff to attract more event-goers can lead to a flourishing of local businesses and a rise in tax revenue. In response to Ashleigh Gee's petition asking Tauranga City Council this morning to delay the closure of the Waterfront parking area, Commissioner Anne Tolley stated: "We thought we were working very closely and we thought that we were listening hard and had made a number of changes, let alone huge investment that the ratepayers are making in the centre of the city; enormous support right across the city for that investment." That flies in the face of the evidence. A clear majority of submitters did not want the Commissioners' Civic Centre option to proceed. Even a number of museum supporters don't support the scale and costs of the council's CBD projects. What's more, when costs started to escalate, the waterfront work was removed from the civic centre project and became a separate project, but without separate consultation. It is gaslighting to suggest there is "enormous support right across the city for that investment". We challenge TCC to run an independent public survey to justify that claim. Our decision-makers seem to be operating in a bubble, listening to the views of the city's 'business elites', while largely ignoring the views of the wider public and small businesses (including today's petition). That is economically, socially, and politically unsustainable. Sustainable BOP Trust is strongly supportive of better public transport and reducing congestion. We'd love to see more people using buses, which also helps get better traffic flow. However, the reality is that many bus services are severely impacted by Cameron Rd road works, some routes are still on a weekend schedule, improvements to bus services have been delayed until next year, and the CBD bus interchange has been repeatedly delayed by TCC - there is still no agreed plan and it certainly won't be built until 2024 at the earliest. In that context, it's a terrible time to shut down more all-day CBD parking. The petition to delay the car park closure until the new parking building opens (also coinciding with better bus services and a new bus interchange) seems a perfectly reasonable path forward... and certainly not something the Commissioners should dismiss by claiming "enormous support" for their expensive projects - without any evidence. https://lnkd.in/g4y8FmBq
