In May, we attended the 'Patient Centre Flow Summit' to explore with NHS experts how digital technology is reducing waiting lists. Hospitals are at different stages of digital transformation, but everyone agreed that Patient Engagement Platforms (PEPs) have significantly advanced. We highlighted specific digital tools from Induction Healthcare that are making a difference. These include appointment management, digital forms for post and pre-op assessments and waiting list validation, capturing patient preferences, ability to access test results, patient information libraries. These tools are reducing DNAs, impressing the utilisation of appointments and reducing waiting times, helping to improve a efficiency. Using these tools separately helps, but they are most powerful when integrated across an entire clinical pathway to bring whole pathway transformation.
