Help us to Spread Prevention on this #GivingTuesday 🧡 We ALL have a trigger finger, but only, a few of us face the systemic failures that leads to needing or wanting to use it. Gun Violence is a disease that spreads through modeled behavior. When treated through a true Public Health lens, we can instead spread prevention. Prevention is defined by American Public Health Association, APHA, as the efforts and events that occur before the trigger is pulled. Let’s ALL come together, before the trigger is pulled, to work to prevent future gun violence. Donate to our Youth Economic Opportunity Fund today and spread prevention! #WeArePrevention Donate: https://lnkd.in/esSMeYEr

HealthWell is one of a small group of non-profit foundations known as Charitable Patient Assistance Programs (CPAPs). So what is a CPAP, and how do they work? We've prepared this short video to help explain exactly that. Whether you work with another CPAP, a pharmacy, a provider's office, or as a patient advocate, we invite you to share this video to help educate patients on how to get assistance through a CPAP for their medication cost-shares. https://lnkd.in/eZiMXwyC

More than 4,000 kids will be diagnosed with a critical illness this holiday season. With Make-A-Wish, you have the power to take action this Giving Tuesday, and give each one of these kids the strength they need to fight. Kids, like Magnum, whose wish is one of more than 10,000 we've granted over our 40 year history as a chapter. 🌠 When you help grant wishes, you create a turning point in a child’s treatment and recovery. It’s the most valuable gift you can give, because it means you’re giving them a better chance to survive and thrive. Give joy today. Restore hope for tomorrow, and our next 10,000 wishes. 🌟💙 This Giving Tuesday, donate to grant wishes at wish.org/canv.

If you watch just one thing today, make it this... 💗 🏥 Every week in the UK & Ireland 70 people suffer an aortic dissection. Sadly, half die. An aortic dissection occurs when there is a partial tear in the aortic wall. It is a time critical medical emergency that (when diagnosed and treated on time) has a better than 80% survival rate. Sadly 33% of those suffering from an aortic dissection are misdiagnosed, including my mum. An aortic dissection can happen at any age, and without any apparent warning. 2000 lives are lost in the UK every year, and it's estimated that 10 people die a week due to misdiagnosis. Please take a few moments to look at the excellent work of The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust https://lnkd.in/dB2wMv8q The lack of aortic dissection knowledge, management and skills is wholly inadequate in the UK. Let's drive the change to improve awareness and patient outcomes. #aorticdissection #aorticdissectionawareness https://lnkd.in/dHHSRCJH

National Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 18 – 24, 2023, and draws attention to the issue of diaper need in the U.S. A signature initiative of the National Diaper Bank Network launched in 2012, the National Diaper Need Awareness Week provides individuals, organizations, communities, and elected officials the opportunity to engage in real talk and simple actions. By working together we can ensure that all babies have access to clean diapers and other basic necessities required for them to thrive and reach their full potential. One in two U.S. families struggles to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. Here are a few things you can do to participate: - Host a diaper drive and donate to your favorite nonprofit organization, such as The Treehouse. - The Treehouse is always in need of size 4, 5 and 6 diapers. - Request proclamations from elected officials. - Engage in Real Talk on social media via #EndDiaperNeed and #BasicsArentBasic - Make a donation to NDBN and/or a local diaper program.

Reflecting on the past week, I'm thrilled to share that I've finally flung on the running shoes and started my 49mile challenge off with a bang (and a small side stitch!) I managed my first 10k run on the treadmill yesterday in approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes. With 6.2 miles completed, there's a motivating (and slightly daunting) 42.8 miles ahead. I'm dedicating this effort to support causes close to my heart—RNLI and Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. If you can, please consider contributing to these worthy organizations. To donate to the RNLI Reindeer Run event, check the link below: https://lnkd.in/ev8bEpH6 To support 25miles for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association Disease Association please see this link below: https://gofund.me/d5c56140 This journey has prompted contemplation on the virtue of patience and commitment. Just a few months ago, I struggled to keep up even a minute of consistent running, feeling the frustration of comparing myself to more experienced runners at the gym. Realizing the futility of these comparisons, I shifted my focus to personal progress. Each session, I aimed for improvement - one step at a time, and over time, I've unwittingly transformed into someone who can now jog along with the ease and comfort I once admired in others. This experience, I've found, holds a broader lesson applicable to situations both personal and professional. Often, we find it challenging to perceive our own progress when either fixated on comparisons or burdened by unrealistic expectations. I've discovered that by occasionally looking back at the journey, we can appreciate the strides made, recognising that we may actually have reached a point of which we once only dreamed of. Here's to embracing the value of personal growth and celebrating the journey toward our aspirations, one step (and mile) at a time. #RNLI #MND #charityfundraising #ThoughtOfTheDay #reflection #personaldevelopment #personalgrowth
Sasha Ferguson from Castle Colour Packaging Ltd is gearing up for a new challenge in December!... He will be running, walking, and yes, crawling (in that order!) a total of 49 miles to support RNLI and MND Association. Sasha said ‘While running isn't my forte, the important causes drive me to lace up my shoes, throw on some reindeer antlers, and hit the pavement! Your support means the world.’ The photo captures an impromptu 5k run in Florida at the early hour of 5 am! 🌅🏃♂️ Every donation to support these wonderful charities will be really appreciated. We will be cheering Sasha on in December!
