Solar energy systems are more reliable than grid-based electricity, which is subject to power failures and load shedding. In such situations, hospitals can substitute the grid power through solar energy. The healthcare industry releases a massive amount of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. By switching to a clean energy resource, organizations can cut down on these emissions.

Facing the #EnergyTransition in Europe: How are EnR members accelerating the global challenge? 📍 A visit to France Rebecca Martin, Electromobility Engineer, Transport and Mobility Department ADEME, summarizes the current development in her country. 🗨 "#Transportsector represents 25% of EU GHG emissions, so its #decarbonisation is a requirement for the energy transition. Regarding light passenger mobility, a modal shift must be operated from individual car ownership towards public, shared and active mobility. #Electricvehicles, although part of a more diverse mobility offer, should be essential for uses that cannot be switched, with special regards to #energyefficiency and limitation of environmental impacts. This means light, affordable vehicles with small batteries sized for everyday uses and resort to slow charging during off-peak hours. The deployment, throughout Europe, of #lowemissionzones as well as the new French purchase aid system based on environmental criteria are interesting steps. But the prevention of social exclusion during this transition must remain a key stake. The Xtreme defi piloted by ADEME aims to create an intermediary vehicle that is efficient for daily, clean and affordable mobility and could be an important step in achieving this goal. Regarding heavy duty, a territorial multi-mode and multi-fuel approach must be taken.
