Did you know that the world ends up with 92 million tonnes of clothes-related waste each year, and since only 1 to 2 percent currently follow a circular recycling route, up to 91 million tonnes of textile waste is still being downcycled, landfilled, or incinerated annually? After exploring the problem space, different prototypes, and future scenarios, team S.A.G.E created the Cool Automated Recycling Loop, short C.A.R.L. C.A.R.L is a machine that can recycle old clothes into whichever new items a person desires. This allows users to participate in a more sustainable clothing consumption experience with amenities, interactive features, and other educational tools. C.A.R.L focuses on reharvesting all the materials in the old garments rather than trying to restore the original garment. It promotes a circular economy by localizing recycling and production, also canceling the need for a transport chain of imports and exports. Design and use of new materials. Technology and innovation are key drivers for circular fashion, as they can offer solutions for the different stages of the clothing life cycle, from design and production to consumption and disposal. Circular fashion is based on the principles of circular economy, which is a system that eliminates waste and pollution, keeps products and materials in use, and regenerates natural systems. Developing and using materials that are biodegradable, recyclable, renewable, or made from waste can reduce the environmental footprint of clothing and textiles. For example, some brands are using materials such as organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, lyocell, recycled polyester, or leather alternatives made from pineapple, mushroom, or apple waste. These materials can reduce the use of water, energy, chemicals, and land, as well as the emissions of greenhouse gases and microplastics. Moreover, these materials can be designed to have longer durability, better quality, and higher functionality, which can extend the lifespan of clothing and textiles and increase their value. Its never about the price you pay for your Machine Pallet Wrap in either price per roll or price per Kg in fact it is actually irrelevant to you. Its all about the cost per pallet wrapped. Our prospective customer wanted to know our pricing so I informed them. "So why would I want to pay £6 per roll more for Wrap And Pack film" asks the buyer before we conduct the trial. "That's £414 more expensive per pallet I order". "Trust me" I replied "you will want to start using our film moving forward". We then wrapped their pallet of product exactly the same way with both films, with exactly the same number of wraps applied in front of the customer ensuring that the load stability was of the highest order. In the picture below the large mass on the left came from the customers current 20mu film The small mass on the right came from Wrap and Film which is 15mu. <Answer for the customer> Because the one on the left costs you 46p per pallet wrapped and the one on the right costs you 24p per pallet wrapped. Also based on the number of pallets you wrap per year your film on the left costs you £32,994 per annum and you use 20.3 tonnes per annum but now with Wrap And Pack film it will cost you £16,992 per annum and you'll use 8.5 tonnes per annum. Therefore our new customer we have just saved you £16,002 per annum and reduced your film consumption by 11.8 tonnes enhancing your sustainability performance for your business.
