Ex-Senior Vice President (Procurement & Contracts). Actively seeking a Consultancy/Advisory/ Expert/Specialist Role in Procurement, Sourcing, Materials Management, Contracts & Supply Chain Management
The uniformed attendant sitting next to you on your flight is probably 'deadheading' or getting paid to fly as a passenger: •Airlines sometimes have to reposition pilots and flight attendants so they can work on flights. •Staff who are "deadheading" are paid to fly so they can reach another airport but aren't on active duty. This practice of flying a pilot or cabin crew on a commercial plane to another airport to reposition them so that they can work a flight is known as "deadheading." This happens, for example, if a flight attendant calls in sick and a replacement must be found to comply with aircraft staffing rules. Deadheading can also include flying crew to and from their home base if their scheduled routes don't return them there. Pilots and flight attendants are considered to be on duty when they're deadheading and are usually given their full pay, even though they don't have to actively work on the flight. "Deadheads" generally board first and are usually required to be in uniform in case they asked to work during the flight – which only happens in very rare circumstances or have to head for another plane immediately upon landing.

What are the top 5 skills you need to be a great flight attendant? 1. Safety and Emergency Procedures: Flight attendants must have a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and evacuation techniques. They should be trained in first aid, CPR, and the use of emergency equipment, such as oxygen masks, life vests, and evacuation slides. 2. Knowledge of Aircraft Systems: Flight attendants should have a basic understanding of aircraft systems, including the operation of doors, emergency exits, cabin lighting, and communication systems. This knowledge helps them effectively assist passengers and ensure their safety during flights. 3. Foreign Language Proficiency: Being fluent in multiple languages can be a valuable asset for flight attendants, especially on international routes. It allows them to communicate effectively with passengers who may not speak the same language, enhancing customer service and ensuring clear instructions during emergencies. 4. Food and Beverage Service: Flight attendants often provide food and beverage service to passengers during flights. They should have the ability to handle and serve meals, beverages, and snacks efficiently, while adhering to safety and hygiene standards. 5. Technology Skills: Flight attendants should be comfortable using various types of technology onboard, such as in-flight entertainment systems, public address systems, and handheld devices used for passenger information and documentation. Having a combination of both soft skills and hard skills is crucial for a flight attendant's success in providing excellent customer service, ensuring passenger safety, and maintaining a smooth operation throughout the flight. #aviationindustry #customerservice #flightattendant

With DC Aviation, every step of preparation is always as customized as possible, according to the wishes and requirements of our guest.🤝🏻 👉🏻 The service on board includes welcoming our guests and preparing and serving the menu. Our cabin crews are always hosts by conviction, but can also be nurses or doctors, chaplains, firefighters, cooks, housekeepers, secretaries, cleaners, assistants, shoppers, nannies, entertainers or simply listeners.🥰 👉🏻 After the flight, the crew is responsible for fully taking care of the aircraft, the equipment and many post flight duties.👩🏻✈️✈ How did you imagine working as a cabin crew member would be? Greetings travelers. This is your cabin safety officer speaking. I know listening to pre-flight safety briefings isn't the most exciting part of your journey, but it really is important, especially when it comes to occupational health and safety (OSH) in the airline industry. You might not realize it, but so much work goes on behind the scenes to make sure you have a safe and comfortable flight. From the pilots up front, to the flight attendants, to the maintenance crew, ground staff, and cleaners - it takes a huge team working together to get this metal bird off the ground! And let me tell you, air travel can be dangerous work. Lugging around heavy carts, dealing with unruly passengers, long shifts on your feet, jet lag - it takes a toll. That's why OSH is such a priority, even at 30,000 feet in the air. Proper training, equipment, procedures, and regulations keep us safe while we keep YOU safe. So next time you're settling into your seat, listening to those pre-flight instructions, and watching us demonstrate those safety procedures - don't roll your eyes! We're doing this for your protection and ours too. Aviation safety is truly a team effort. On behalf of the entire crew, thanks for flying with us! Now buckle up, stow your carry-ons securely, keep that seat back upright for takeoff, and let's enjoy a smooth, on-time flight to our destination. I bet you never thought OSH applies to aviation especially planes we just hide it deep in the SMS. Now you know

💬 What do you do for a living? - I'm a flight attendant. - Oh! So you're an air waitress... Being a flight attendant is not an easy job! 🔹We work long hours, we don't have a routine, and we can fly at dawn, during the day, or at night. 🔹Nothing is guaranteed! We know what time we go to work, but we don't know what time we come back! A lot of things can happen like delays, plane breakdowns, not arriving on time at an airport and having to diverge, bird strikes... And no, we are not mere air waitresses. ❌ 🔹We are highly qualified professionals responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and overall well-being of passengers. 🔹We undergo extensive training in areas such as emergency procedures, first aid, and customer service. 🔹We also play a crucial role in the security of airline travel, constantly surveying the cabin for suspicious behavior or items. ✈️ So much more than just "air waitresses," we are integral members of the aviation industry. #aviation #flightattendant #lifestyle #safety

𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝘀𝘁, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 #𝗡𝗲𝘄𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗗𝗮𝘆 I walked in EY's Network Operations Center faced with this chilling METAR report: 𝗢𝗠𝗔𝗔 𝟬𝟭𝟬𝟭𝟬𝟰𝗭 𝟯𝟭𝟬𝟯𝟳𝗚𝟱𝟱𝗞𝗧 𝟮𝟵𝟬𝗩𝟯𝟱𝟬 𝟬𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗥𝟭𝟯𝗥/𝟬𝟳𝟬𝟬 +𝗧𝗦𝗥𝗔 𝗕𝗟𝗗𝗨 𝗦𝗖𝗧𝟬𝟯𝟬𝗖𝗕 𝗕𝗞𝗡𝟬𝟰𝟬 𝟭𝟴/𝟭𝟳 𝗤𝟭𝟬𝟭𝟵 𝗪𝗦 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗥𝗪𝗬 𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗢 𝗩𝗥𝗕𝟯𝟬𝗚𝟱𝟬𝗞𝗧 𝟬𝟯𝟱𝟬 Embracing various backgrounds of my contacts over here, this means a wind speed of 37 knots signifies a substantial breeze, gusts peaking at 55 knots—suggesting abrupt and temporary increases in wind intensity. Visibility was restricted to 0500 meters, accompanied by a severe thunderstorm with rain and widespread blowing dust. The atmospheric pressure measured 1019 hPa, and wind shear was present across all runways. Given wind shear conditions surpassing the aircraft's operational limits, traffic will hold and possibly divert; consequently, my team and I had to navigate this weather for gruelling 4 hours. I’m expected to implement recovery plans and What If scenarios to play out in real-time, decisions were made in a countdown manner. Tasks included positioning crews and aircraft, thinning schedules at base, managing cancellations and delays, and coordinating the uplift of combined guest loads from diversion points, all while maintaining rigorous oversight of crew schedule legalities, that's the #𝗔𝗿𝘁.
