Like with everything else in the coating world, membranes perform better the thinner they are. Thin coatings or castings, in this case, require a level of understanding in fluid flow that may seem daunting. Learn more in this technical article: https://lnkd.in/ga9hCBKA

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗠𝗜𝗢 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? There are 3 reasons why MIO is used for heavy duty corrosion protection. The third reason is 𝗔𝗗𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 improvement: The adhesion force of the film to the substrate is one of the quality determining factors of protective coatings. Incorporation of MIOX® pigments often improves the adhesion between a coating and the substrate as well as between subsequent coats. This has proved to be valid also on galvanized surfaces. In addition, MIOX® containing coatings allow an easier recoating as the need for special surface preparation is eliminated or reduced. The well-balanced combination of the binder with other fillers and ingredients decides about the interaction between the fillers and the polymer matrix, as well as the adhesion to the substrate. Around 20 years ago, engineers in the STAUFF Research & Development department started investigating and benchmarking several different coating options for original STAUFF fluid power components made from carbon steel. They were looking for a superior alternative to Zinc plating, which was the industry standard at that time. At the end of this process, they made a well-considered decision, which still persists today: The STAUFF Zinc/Nickel surface coating, that was eventually introduced at STAUFF in 2007, offers excellent protection against corrosion far beyond the previous market standards, even after transport, handling and assembly. Today, this coating is the established standard for almost the entire range of STAUFF hydraulic line components such as tube connectors, hose connectors, mounting hardware for STAUFF clamps, several types of quick couplings and ball valves, hydraulic test points and many more. The result: Thousands of happy and loyal STAUFF customers around the world, who get most if not all of the precision hydraulic line components they require in high, uniform quality and with superior corrosion resistance.
