🚀 Presenting our most recent and advanced automatic supports algorithm: OPF (short for "Optimized Path Finding") 🚀 Traditional supports (Tree and scaffold-based) connect the touchpoints to the ground in vertical paths. When vertical paths are unavailable, the supports end up on the part itself, resulting in cumbersome post-processing and a bad surface finish. Our OPF algorithm connects each touchpoint on the part to the ground in the shortest possible path, without touching the part anywhere. This ensures that minimal part surface area is affected by supports resulting in an unprecedented level of ease during post-processing for the end-user and a better surface finish. Another advantage of our algorithm is its ability to make lightweight supports. Unlike the existing methods employed by other software providers, our algorithm connects the touchpoints only to a set of points on the ground (called "seeds") instead of the entire (projected) region below the part. While initially developed for (polymer based) SLA/DLP 3D Printers, our OPF Supports can be seamlessly adapted for LPBF (Metal Printing) technologies with minor enhancements, offering a future-proof solution for your 3D printing needs. OPF supports can be made available for trial only upon request and cannot be downloaded from our website. Feel free to drop us an email at info@mira3dp.com to get a demo of the OPF supports. https://lnkd.in/dmG64wPS

One of the many things that makes #additivemanufacturing so innovative is that it allows us to easily place unique part numbers directly on printed parts. This method completely eliminates the need for adding part identification in subsequent manufacturing steps, saving a great deal of time and effort. Additionally, it bolsters the reliability of the production line by ensuring positive part ID throughout the entire manufacturing process. From part identification, lot tracking, to serialization, the 3D printers treat them all the same. This is just one reason why I love working with this technology.
