Next month, under the guidance of Rooted Rhythm Therapy and Parent Coaching and Journey Clinical — I will begin offering Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for adults struggling with anxiety, depression and/or feelings of stuckness.
Ketamine is a tool used in psychotherapy to help quiet protective mechanisms in order to explore and integrate difficult emotions.
A psychotherapist provides a safe space to do shadow work, also known as ‘going to a dark place’ allowing the unconscious to arise to conscious awareness.
Without this self-exploration, maladaptive behavior patterns or addictions persist and produce feelings of powerlessness.
There is hope! Take radical self responsibility along with fierce self-compassion. I want to help you feel confidently empowered to accept who you are and become who you want to be.

We already do not have enough clinical psychologists and mental health professionals to meet the need for services. That gap is going to continue to grow. I have seen calls for more psychologists:
In the Southeast US
Specializing in child/adolescent care
In hospital settings
Specializing in geriatric care
Who speak multiple languages
Are any of these of interest to you? You are needed!

How we've been hurt in the past can profoundly impact how deeply we can be hurt by others now.
This awareness and understanding empower us to choose how we respond to others, regardless of what we've been through. Remember that we have the power to grow, to learn, and to create positive connections despite the things that happened in the past.
By nurturing our well-being and engaging in personal growth, we can build a future that is not defined by our past but shaped by our own resilience and strength.

📚 In a thought-provoking article published in Psychology Today, author and licensed clinical social worker Nancy Colier critiques the widespread use of the term “trauma.” She believes it's often used as a catch-all label for any challenges or inconveniences we feel shouldn't happen to us. This misuse, she argues, can trivialize the true meaning of trauma as defined by the American Psychiatric Association, which involves exposure to “actual or threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence,” or profoundly distressing events that emotionally overwhelm an individual.
According to Colier, "real trauma is a devastating, painful, and life-changing experience." It shouldn't be equated with common inconveniences like a difficult boss, a bad date, or even a discontinued menu item. How can we be more intentional in thoughtfully choosing our words and be mindful of how our language affects those around us?

Understanding and Supporting Your Adult Baby Family Member ABDL Diaper lover Sissy baby. Part 11.
Seeking Professional Guidance for Families of Adult Babies
The Value of Professional Support:
There are times when the complexities of understanding a family member's involvement in the Adult Baby/Diaper Lover (ABDL) community may go beyond what can be managed within the family unit. In such cases, seeking professional guidance from a therapist or counselor who has experience with or knowledge of the ABDL community can be incredibly beneficial.
Mental health professionals can offer objective insights, coping strategies, and advice tailored to your family's specific needs and circumstances. According to the American Psychological Association, therapists can help in navigating the emotional and psychological aspects of complex family dynamics.
Finding the Right Therapist:
When seeking a therapist, it's important to find someone who is open-minded and respectful towards diverse lifestyles and identities, including those within the ABDL community. Therapists who are experienced in dealing with alternative lifestyles or sexual identities may offer a more nuanced understanding and effective support.
Resources such as the Psychology Today Therapist Directory can be helpful in finding therapists with specific expertise or experience. It’s also appropriate to ask potential therapists about their familiarity with and attitude towards the ABDL community during initial consultations.
Benefits of Therapy:
Therapy can provide a safe and confidential space for family members to express their concerns, fears, and questions about their loved one’s ABDL interests. This can be particularly helpful in cases where family members are struggling to reconcile their own feelings.
For the family member who identifies with the ABDL community, therapy can offer support in exploring their identity, coping with stigma, and integrating their lifestyle in a healthy and balanced way.
