📣 Calling all my fellow physicians out there! If you don’t have your credentials (specifically MD or DO) after you name on LinkedIn you are likely getting overlooked for opportunities more than you realize. We all know how quickly folks scroll through social media. Whether you’re looking for a new clinical role or a career transition, making connections, or displaying your thought leadership, don’t make it hard for people to know you are a physician. We worked so incredibly f-ing hard for those two letters. We gave up decades of our lives (and often much of our physical and mental health along the way). Display them at every opportunity! Don’t make people have to open your profile to figure out whether or not you are a physician. Chances are they will keep scrolling to another connection or potential job candidate rather than take the time to do this. If you go ahead and do this right now, you’ve already taken a step on the first day of the year to improve your LinkedIn profile! In just 10 seconds! That's a mums job right, to pay for services to help your teen? 👀When was the last time you looked at yourself, at how you interact with your teen and what your role is in the things that worry you? Are you: ⭐Overthinking and - responding to perception as opposed to reality ⭐Feeling guilty - therefore don't provide consequences ⭐Lacking confidence in the world of your teen - which means that you withdraw and don't communicate with your teen ⭐Lacking influence in their world - which means that you feel envious of the influence their peers have So mums, BE LIKE JO, its NEVER silly to ✅Ask the questions ✅Share your experiences because ✅Someone, somewhere will appreciate you for it And if you want to explore some of the things that you are currently experiencing as a mum, send me a DM, I'd love to connect with you, listen to you, I'm here to help.

4:37am - What are you up to? 💤 At this time of the morning I’m up writing my 3 goals. 1 is a short term goal ( 1 year time frame). The second is a medium term ( 3 year time frame) and the final is a long term 5 year goal! After I write these three I repeat my short term goal 15 times… This is shortly followed by 20 - 30 mins of reading either personal development or industry specific, medical recruitment material. At the moment, i'm half way through Happy Sexy Millionaire by Steven Bartlett Make no mistake, when that alarm goes off in the morning i'm absolutely shattered 😂 But once I start my morning routine at the most peaceful time of the day I’m in the best head space possible. I am now a GP partner! I have taken on partnership in a practice after thoughtful consideration. I have been asked how am I juggling all of my different roles of Clinical Director, Clinical Lead for Primary Care Education, Chair of Connected Cultures, teaching IMGs (International medical graduates) etc. Let me explain. When I work on equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging, I improve culture, attraction, retention and this passion of mine crosses sectors (primary care, secondary care, ICB, voluntary sectors, police to name a few) When I teach, I can see what needs to be done in the system to improve students and graduates clinical and leadership skills. When I look at population health, I work in collaboration with other stakeholders to address health inequalities and improve the care of patients. In reality, they are complementary to each other! More importantly, I focus on the people- the staff that comes in every single day to do the best they can, because I can't do it alone. Without those teams around me, none of this will be possible. I've been told I'm an inspiration but let me tell you, when I see single parent, carers, genuine hard working people stepping through the door every single day, I'm inspired by them and my utmost priority is to make sure they are being listened to and cared for. I was asked to articulate my purpose into words by my career coach and this sentence blurted out: 'I want to be a voice for those who don't have one!' That is my North Star and it will be always be my guide. P/s: I had to grow broader shoulders to take on all these additional responsibilities. Good thing I found a picture of myself on a big person. 😁
