Think you would notice if a 278-foot-tall granite tower in your neighborhood changed color overnight? An award-winning restoration of the Brooklyn Bridge was certainly not done overnight (it lasted from 2020 to 2023), but due to Covid, not as many people noticed its transformation as decades' worth of carbon and dirt were removed from the historic granite towers and its original (much lighter) colors were revealed.
