Self-care is a big buzzword these days, not only should you be looking out for your physical health and wellness, but also be mindful of your mental health. During Mental Health Awareness month, we encourage you to create strong, proactive self-care practices that give you the energy and space to thrive. A few ideas to get you started are self-care journals, affirmations, quotes, and you can even download a few self-care apps. #MentalHealthAwareness #Consulting #SelfCare https://hubs.ly/Q02tH2ym0

Mental Health Advocate | Business Transformation | Racial Justice, Equity, & Inclusion | Learning Experiences | Process Improvement | Consultant & Keynote Speaker | Voice Over Talent
Your mission – should you accept it – to WALK THE TALK with Mental Health and Well-Being Advocacy isn't just about raising awareness; it's about taking meaningful action to create tangible change in how we approach mental health in our communities. It means being intentional in our words, actions, and policies to ensure that everyone has access to the support and resources they need to thrive. Here are some ways we can go deeper in our advocacy: 1. Authenticity: Advocacy starts with authenticity. It's about being genuine in our interactions and conversations about mental health. This means sharing our own experiences, struggles, and successes without fear of judgment, and actively listening to others without prejudice. 2. Education: True advocacy requires understanding. We must educate ourselves and others about mental health conditions, the impact of stigma, and the importance of early intervention and support. By promoting accurate information and dispelling myths, we can create a more informed and empathetic society. 3. Action: Advocacy is not passive; it requires action. This can take many forms, from supporting mental health organizations and initiatives to advocating for policy changes that prioritize mental health services and support. It also means standing up against discrimination and injustice faced by those with mental health conditions. 4. Inclusivity: Effective advocacy is inclusive and intersectional. It recognizes that mental health intersects with other aspects of identity, such as race, gender, sexuality, ability, and socioeconomic status. By amplifying diverse voices and addressing the unique challenges faced by different communities, we can create a more equitable and inclusive mental health landscape. 5. Long-Term Commitment: Real change takes time and sustained effort. Advocacy for mental health isn't just for one month out of the year; it's an ongoing commitment to prioritizing mental health and well-being in our personal and professional lives. By staying engaged and persistent, we can create lasting impact. By embracing these principles and going deeper in our advocacy efforts, we can truly make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities affected by mental health conditions. Together, let's continue to advocate, educate, and support each other on the journey toward mental health equity and justice.
