I have had concerns since late last decade that the Australian Defence Force has been ill-prepared at point of injury care and best practices post our most recent COIN conflict with #AUKUS allies. Regardless of the fact the ADF adopt small parts of TCCC and then choose to ignore or dismiss entire parts of the continuum delivery/capability ( e.g TC3-CLS within Arms Corps personnel ) The ‘AS-TCCC’ fails to follow best global practices and developed guidelines from our greatest ally, which make me concerned for our current service personnel and their battlefield survivability. Hence SOTER International was conceived to accelerate this. Now to hear this ….…makes me concerned 10 fold. When is the ADF going to realise it’s too late….our (Australian) soldiers, sailors and airmen need to be trained NOW prior to a possible ‘neer-peer’ conflict, without potentially, air dominance or at least freedom of manoeuvre. There will be no time for ‘just in time training’ next time and we are failing to embrace the learnings of the #42 and integrating medical training/scenarios into every exercise and rehearsal. #tccc #concerns #adf #defenceindustry #soterinternational

C2WAC Class 23-4 complete for 22 new graduates! Phew, now time to get back to the day job at Air Combat Command. In this month long course, 21 subject matter experts from across the United States Air Force came together and focused on graduate level operational warfare planning. Meaning, this group of advanced planners built a timely/relevant Air Battle Plan for the Combined/Joint Forces Air Component Commander (C/JFACC) that included the integration of joint kinetic and non kinetic capabilities across the spectrum of conflict. But more importantly, we weren't alone in our planning which is reflective of how we won't be alone in any near-peer competition with Russia (cue to Sweden joining NATO this summer) or China. We had a member of the Royal Australian Air Force as our 22nd teammate! Its worth mentioning that the ability of having representatives from the FVEY nations (AUS, US, UK, CA, NZ) included in wartime planning at the component level (when we create the battle plan the Air Force proposes to the JFC and SecDef) is what sets the United States Department of Defense apart from our competitors. I challenge you to look back at history and tell me if any other world power has ever included its allies so heavily in its planning for war/contingencies as we do. And double challenge if you can find any past historical world power that trusted its allies with as much sensitive information as we do. This is what makes us different. Sustainment NCOs provide a unique strategic advantage to execute sustainment operations at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels. The Army's senior enlisted sustainer, says for these NCOs it is imperative that they major in warfighting and minor in sustainment operations. As a prerequisite to obtaining a degree in warfighting, sustainment NCOs must be brilliant at the basics. Civilian employees—who make up most of warfare centers’ technical workforce—must learn these concepts on their own or not at all.” #NAWCADian Matt Cosner—the F/A-18 and EA-18G program’s Science and Technology lead—is reimagining what it's like to be a #USNavy civilian advancing capability for #NavalAviation and our warfighters with no fleet experience. His solution? Gaming. Specifically, wargaming to help non-military professionals speak the same language as the warfighters they support. It wouldn’t be difficult as nearly 40% of Navy civilians are veterans. “Each warfare center could design and host annual wargames centered on one or more of the 11 focus areas in the Naval Science and Technology Strategy.
