This week Saylor celebrated our 3rd birthday 🤯 I am so proud of the crew and all we've achieved. Below is my little welcome message to the team at our annual offsite where we painted, solved a murder/mystery, and ate a deliciously chaotic Hibachi din. Thought I'd share... - Welcome to Saylor’s 3 year old birthday party!! As many of you know... I have a 6 month old. She is incredibly cute and is growing and changing dramatically on a weekly basis. When she was born she could barely open her eyes and poop. She was navigating the world for the first time. 6 months later - she’s alert, joyful, pooping a lot… but struggles too. She’s learning how to sit up, eat solids, and sleep through the night. Now that’s a 6 month old. When I picture her at three years old… she’ll be walking and talking, learning how to put on her own shoes, asking questions about the World, and learning how to play with other kids. 6 months after founding Saylor - we hired our first employee. Today... Saylor turns three and we are a team of 41. Now we’re a bit more mature than a three year old child, but it's important to remember how much more we have to learn. After three years we’re still doing things for the first time, we’re asking questions about our place in the world, and we’re learning how to work together better. This is such a critical time for us as a company. We have momentum with our clients & partners, an incredible team, and a clear strategy. We’re just three years old. Imagine when we turn 5 or 10 or 20. We have such an exciting life ahead of us and I can’t wait to get old together.

I turned 27 yesterday. And here’s what I realized: I don’t celebrate myself enough. I’m always afraid that taking time to celebrate instead of focusing on what’s next will only lead to complacency. … and, ultimately, failure and regret. But all it really does? Reinforce the idea that I’ll never be “enough.” And that couldn’t be further from the truth. Because if I’ve learned anything, the key to progress is this: ↳ Take your time. ↳ Take a deep breath. ↳ Take a moment to celebrate. No matter how small. You deserve it. In an effort to follow my own advice (because who even does that), here are 7 wins I’m proud of heading into Year 27: ⤵️ 1. I’ve consistently written content for over 90 days. 2. I’m meeting my son for the 1st time next week. 3. I celebrated my 1-year wedding anniversary. 4. I’ve connected with my favorite creators. 5. I’m excited about what the future holds. 6. I’m proud of who I am becoming. 7. I started writing on LinkedIn. — I’ve learned that celebrating your wins is more than just feeling good. Because when we remind ourselves of our achievements, no matter how small, we remind ourselves how capable and worthy we truly are. So, here’s to not just moving forward but taking the time to look back and appreciate how far we’ve come. Because this life is one we should enjoy every step of the way.

🐷 Just had a moment on my way back from the doctor!  I saw opening of our local Marks and Spencer, and what caught my eye? A giant Percy Pig! I'm an absolute sucker for the cheese pretzels there, but it wasn't the discounts or the Burns Day piper that lured me in – it was the giant Percy. The only trick I missed at today's opening (which may come later in the day) - is that giant Percys helpers weren't handing out little Haribo-sized baby Percy Pig bags. I may have made a second trip to Marks later with my kids for that - and they, for sure, would have lured me into spending more pennies! I may have even added to my kids' school WhatsApp chats that Percy has arrived with little Percys!! Now just sitting at home, wondering whether to go back and get a big bag... decisions, decisions. It got me thinking about the 'love affair' people have with this fab character and others, often described in articles as a real love story. 💖 Perfect timing for Valentine's Day And it made me think – how are we, as marketers, creating love stories for our brands? Though, it might seem easier in the B2C space, but why should we B2B peeps miss out on the fun! Though I do miss the fun we had when I was at co-op 😊 The pull of Percy Pig reminds me about building a connection – it's more than just transactions; it's about creating emotions and attachment. So, getting ready for Valentine's Day, wondering about getting the thinking caps on to inject a bit more playfulness into our brand messaging even if just a nod. Who says B2B can't have its own love story? Hmmm now how will i do that with data....Let's make our brands more memorable, and maybe even a little bit irresistible (sales team, notice that word Gerry Goodwin 😊).
