What do you look for when building your team? When I first started out in business more than 18 years ago, I'll be honest, all I wanted was a warm body to help me manage the (seemingly) million moving parts. Today, I am grateful to say I can be a bit picky when it comes to who I invite to be on my team. When it comes to your team, not only are they a reflection of you and your business, but also they are either an anchor (keeping you grounded and stable) or a set of wings (helping you see all the possibilities). Depending on who you are to your business, it may be necessary to have all of the above... especially those voices from opposing forces that help keep you grounded AND help you see a bigger future. I'll ask again in a different way, WHO do you look for when building your team? #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #buildingyourteam #colleagues #JamieAllenBishop #mindsetcoach

What differentiates united and disunited teams? Four things: 1️⃣ Clarity vs unclarity United teams have clear goals and responsibilities. Disunited teams suffer from vague goals and team members don’t know what is expected from them. 2️⃣ Purpose vs purposelessness United teams understand the importance of their tasks and for whom they create value. Disunited teams cannot see the forest from the trees. 3️⃣ Engagement vs disengagement United teams share the accountability for team’s results. Disunited team’s members work for their individual goals and try to look better than their peers. 4️⃣ Transparency vs opacity United teams express their wins as one team. They handle their losses without blame. Disunited teams cannot tell a shared story how their team is doing and leave people guessing. United self-managed teams are not built from scratch. They need to be supported in the right way with a good combination of clarity, alignment, boundaries and empowerment. #team #support

As we all know operational change can be hard for teams, couple that with introducing new people to a team, its crucial that you spend time to understand the new dynamic and how you can support each other. Today we are doing just that, can't wait to spend a day with the team exploring how we can improve and strengthen relationships through understanding ourselves and developing our team culture. Late to the game, first time using the Emotional Card Deck, would love to hear how other teams have used them! #myersbriggs #emotionalculturedeck #teambuilding
