People are working hard (and have been working hard for many years) to provide an education to millions of kids in Myanmar, in refugee camps, and in IDP camps. This means developing materials in children's first languages. I was impressed by this song developed in just a day. One of the most difficult parts of developing tools and instructional aids that I have seen is the composition of children's songs. Using a foreign melody will make it difficult to sing the song as well as impose a foreign concept of music. Traditional/local tunes, though, often prove too complicated for kids to sing. Going without songs seems like a loss, as children tend to enjoy singing and songs help with remembering. A seemingly simple thing like a children's song actually takes more time and effort than may first be obvious. And this is just one type of tool out of many that teachers can and should use in the classroom. #myanmar #refugees #language #languageeducation #multilingualeducation

ENGLISH LANGUAGE LESSON🔥🔥 Dowry vs Bride Price clarification. These are two words we commonly misuse in Nigeria. 🔴SIMILARITIES: Both are payments made at the time of marriage in many cultures. 🔴DIFFERENCES ✔DOWRY: Payment, such as property or money, paid by the bride's family to the groom or his family at the time of marriage. ✔BRIDE PRICE: A sum of money or other valuables paid by a bridegroom or on his behalf to the family of the bride, in some cultures. So, it is safe to say what we will call the one practised in Nigeria and maybe Africa is "the bride price system" and not dowry. Did you know this before? Or you are part of the gang that use dowry? To my Filipino connections: What are your thoughts on the correlation between the increasing number of graduates with Latin honors and the ever decreasing literacy rate of the Philippines? Shouldn't it stand to follow that the higher the number of Latin honors we have, our literacy rate should also be higher?
