*Long Post Alert* Mild Disclaimer: I’m not posting this to gain traction but to spread word about a positive experience as we often do for negative experiences. Took a BluSmart Ride today for the second time and had to post a review because first time can be a fluke but now I can say I have the “Proof Of Concept”. Everyone, including me, initially sees it as a EV ride aggregator to challenge Uber and Ola’s market share with a futuristic vision by reducing operational costs. BUT, one thing which folks at BluSmart have solved and which goes unnoticed is the CUSTOMER and DRIVER EXPERIENCE. Anyone travelling in Uber/Ola knows the pain point of bad car/rider experience ranging from AC/hygiene issues in the car to Cash/Digital Payment Disputes. I’ve found myself wishing for a decent cab/rider after booking one. And I’d say the results are ideal in just 30-40% cases. With BluSmart, this strike is almost 100% and I don’t say it based on my 2 experiences (that’d be a shabby sample data size) but because of the ecosystem and behind the scenes planning which makes me believe that this system is here to work. I'm always a proponent of Green Energy so I might be biased here a bit :p Let me share some highlights of this business model: > Drivers are on a salaried structure (financial stability) > Cabs are owned/leased by the company (regulating quality control) > Compulsory week offs to drivers and only a 12hr shift (ensuring no safety issues due to exhaustion and also prioritising driver health) > Hubs and Customer/Driver Support Teams to provide regular help in case anything goes wrong. > Charging Infrastructure built by the company to support their fleet (also taking care of Charging infra) > No rides if charge levels < 30% (reducing Range Anxiety) > Incentivising safe rides over more rides Before it starts looking like it’s written by Blu Smart Marketing Team, I’d like to clarify that I gained this information talking to my driver, who was visibly happy telling me about his experience with the company. I’m happy that a company is prioritising good experience over the race for market share and inflating their balance sheets. I also got around to listen to this WTF Podcast (https://lnkd.in/gvN-Dw4x) [cc: Nikhil Kamath ]where top business minds of our country were talking about the Green Mobility Revolution in India including BluSmart Co Founder Punit K Goyal. Would recommend to curious minds. All in all, looks like a win-win business model. Hope the quality remains same when they scale to more cities and expand their fleet.

I too feel the same. I took my first ride from Gurgaon to Delhi Airport and must say they keep their cars well maintained. The only drawback an EV industry lags is for the charging time, especially for fleet vehicle who are into transport or delivery business. But things will eventually improve as there are lot of advancement going for the improvement of battery density and thermal management during fast charging. There are companies like Exponent Energy who are constantly building systems to charge any vehicle from 2W to heavy vehicles like trucks, tippers in 15mins. Proud that Indian companies are building their own eco-system like charging infra, product usage, subscription based features, connected vehicles and lot more.

Similar experience. I think one thing more adds up here; as the work environment within the cab for the drivers is good ( air-conditioning, cleanspaces, generally better behaved clients etc), even their behaviour is more amicable. Bluesmart is surely growing with quality

Like Shiv Khera says, BluSmart is doing things DIFFERENTLY viz.:- 1. Drivers are our “partners” and thus personal hygiene matters to THEM! Zero tolerance on Gutkha, tobacco while on duty. 2. The boot of the car is FULLY available for the customers and not clogged by CNG cylinders! 3. Zero cancellation is the biggest USP. 4. Zero noise. EV hai, silent hai.
