Handling data discrepancy in GSC (Google Search Console) is a daunting task. I've lost count when someone in SEO domain told me that impressions are always computed for all top 100 results - regardless of the number of results displayed on the screen. We always thought it was not true, and everyone remembered that there was some sort of co-relation, but we didn't have anything to cite. Therefore, we conducted this experiment. We had two primary findings: 1. Google counts impressions - based on the num value in SERP. 2. Impressions of the site-links are computed individually on page level. However, on the aggregate level only the unique impressions show up. Therefore, when you add impressions of all the pages - you may see a higher sum than the aggregate number. https://lnkd.in/g3pe8HDj

Google once again confirmed that Schema or structured data markup doesn't influence search engine rankings. Adding structured data markup to your website can help make it eligible for certain enhancements, but it will never boost rankings. Here's the news article about it: https://lnkd.in/gP8Faq6h

This is INSANE 🤯! The November 2023 Core Algorithm Update was announced yesterday. Could the fast pace of larger updates hint towards SGE launching soon? Remember, the US testing ends in December - what then? 🤖. There is also an "expected" Reviews Update next week, marking the last notification of Google Reviews Updates as they will be "happening at a regular and ongoing pace." However, Google has said the guidance page will still be updated to reflect changes. The last 4 months have been an exciting whirlwind for the SEO world and represent the fastest pace of change in a long time ahead of huge SERP changes. As always, folks, roll up your sleeves and watch your data! 🧠 📖 Jon Earnshaw's feed for live updates: https://lnkd.in/e3359rs2 📖 Google blog ▶ https://lnkd.in/earJy-ji 📖 Google Search Status Dashboard ▶ https://lnkd.in/eqx6XCG6 📖 Google Core Update Guidance ▶ https://lnkd.in/ezE2Fd3U 📖 Google Reviews Guidance ▶ https://lnkd.in/eNQGgyBb #SEO #searchengineoptimization #googleupdate #algorithmupdates #google #coreupdate #reviewsupdate #digitalmarketing
