Very often, I come across companies reaching out to marketing for a quick-fix plan to drive up sales with one campaign, or at most within a 3-month period, when they have 12 months to work towards that gradually. Building up audience, reach, trust, awareness, and offers takes time.
When a company says marketing is not effective, one should ask: what's the underlying ineffectiveness? Marketing is a marathon, like any business. It is not a sprint contest where you have a burst of energy to reach the finish line, only to deplete your energy once you've reached it.
That reminds me of the story of the race between the rabbit and the turtle.
