Here at Moxley Public Health we promote having a healthy work/life balance and for us, that means we aren't big on working over the weekend. However, sometimes I just can't help ideas flowing in my brain and this can't wait until next week! Therefore, I took a quick break from my Saturday-ing and hanging out with my kids to write this post:
Several months ago, we started drafting a "Resource Guide of Promising and Evidence-Based Strategies" to give to our clients when they are choosing strategies for the CHIP to address the priority health needs that they have selected. The guide is organized by health outcomes (heart disease, mental health, maternal and infant health, etc.) and Social Determinants of Health/Community Conditions (economic stability, access to care, transportation, etc.). We love our clients and so much of what we do and how we go "above and beyond" in the needs assessment and improvement plan process is born out of what we hear that they need and want! Therefore, when we heard our clients over and over expressing how they wanted ideas on new strategies to implement in their communities...we started work on the "Resource Guide of Promising and Evidence-Based Strategies". We have recently started using this guide, we are always adding to it when we come across cool strategies we want to share with our clients, and it is meant to be a "live" document that we continuously edit. However, we have never put this out to our LinkedIn contacts for input. We will start that today and will do it regularly!
So do you have an evidence-based or promising strategy that you think should be added to our "Resource Guide of Promising and Evidence-Based Strategies" to address health needs in a community? Share it in the comments! (Name of the strategy, website on it, etc.)
