🚀 Just returned from the incredible Split Tech City Festival in Split, Croatia, and I'm truly inspired! 🌟 This two-day event, which brought together tech fans, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders, was an example of innovation and insight. Here are my top takeaways from an impressive lineup of speakers and thought-provoking panels: 🔹 Day 1 was all about unveiling insights with thought-provoking panels and lectures. We delved into launching a career in the IT sector during challenging times with Antonio Perić-Mažar, Natasa Kapov, and Dunja Ivana Ballon, discussed the transition from junior to senior roles with Ante Dagelić, Mensur Duraković, and Ivan Listeš, explored international cybersecurity careers with Biljana Cerin, and contemplated the future of AI with Ivan Biliškov. Antonio Perić-Mažar provided wisdom that resonated with professionals of all ages. 🔹 Day 2 was equally enlightening with discussions led by Ron Brumbarger, Blaž Perić, Ivana Perić, and Suzana Špika on the challenges young professionals face in the IT industry. 🌟 Before the year ends, we continue celebrating some of our biggest achievements of 2023 🌟 With the launch of our first #OpenCall also came our first edition of S3E Start, the dedicated program of support for researchers and tech transfer offices working on #DeepTech projects. We were extremely fortunate to work hand in hand with 18 scientific research teams from across Southern Europe, to help them pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions and bring their world-changing solutions into the market. Founders Forum Group CEO @CarolynDawson set out the vision for “Tech Nation 2.0”. Now operating as part of the Founders Forum Group, it will carry over four of its predecessor’s startup growth programmes. They are Libra, a programme for ethnic minority founders; Rising Stars, a competition for early-stage startups; The Climate Programme, an initiative for climate tech companies; and Future Fifty, a programme for late-stage businesses. As a community, we have the responsibility to make sure that our work and ideas are making the world a better place. Our team dreams of a more sustainable and more connected world; where micro-communities don’t act as isolated activists, but where we use our superpower to the fullest – the human ability to cooperate in large numbers. We know that this is the best way to make a difference. Latitude59 is not just a conference now. After launching our global satellites in 2023, we are on our way towards becoming a platform with a global scope that CONNECTS like-minded people – bold visionaries in the world of technology and startups. For over a decade, Latitude59 has been making Estonia bigger. In 2023, our Tallinn event hosted attendees from 67 countries, 2/3 traveling from abroad. We had 20+ official delegations, over 50 foreign journalists, and the final prize fund of €1.25M attracted Pitch Competition applicants from 61 countries. Estonia may be small, but we are a solid part of the Global Village (even pushing way above our weight as Atomico’s numbers keep concluding). It’s the responsibility of all of us to share what we’ve learned, to be a part of the conversation, and to seek out connections actively.
