Breaking: Today, President Biden issued an ambitious goal to reconnect, restore, and protect 8 million acres of wetlands and 100,000 miles of rivers and streams by 2030 and challenged states, communities, nonprofits, Tribes, and others to partner in achieving this important work. Pew is one of more than 100 entities that have accepted this challenge. We’ll continue to collaborate with states, Tribes, and others to protect these essential yet at-risk habitats that help: ✅Fight climate change ✅Support wildlife ✅Provide clean drinking water ✅Sustain local economies

Have you ever taken a risk as an organization? Created a strategy, developed a plan, got buy-in and support, and then hoped it worked? That's what we are doing. We are pivoting away from an annual Gala and instead hosting an event this fall we are calling ReGreen Minnesota. We are doing this for a reason: to welcome anyone who wants to take conservation action and make a tangible impact on Minnesota's outdoors. * Instead of tickets priced at over $100 a piece, we are selling them for $40 a person. * Instead of a fancy, seated affair, we are throwing a casual bash where you don't need to buy a new cocktail dress (unless you want to!). * Instead of exclusive, we want to be inclusive. * We'll continue to be informative! From clean water to pollinators, continuous living cover to tree canopies, volunteer events to goats: we'll share what Great River Greening is doing to make an immediate and positive impact on Minnesota's land, for the benefit of people, plants, wildlife, soil and water. Join us and let's ReGreen Minnesota together. #regreen
Join us September 23 at Minneapolis Cider Co. in our efforts to ReGreen Minnesota! Environmental Consultant at Chris Bowden Consulting. Nature recovery and nature finance (Green finance, natural capital and ecosystem services markets) projects, project management, stakeholder & partnership engagement.
Hopefully this fund will be used to pump prime nature recovery and finance projects and purchase land/habitat banks so that the fund is not depleted but will actually increase in size, due to income from ecosystem services markets, investors, etc. Money spent now on development finance and habitat banking could prove very lucrative in the medium term and the perpetuating £3M fund could do a huge amount of good within Berks, Beds and Oxfordshire - benefitting its flora, fauna, environment, people and businesses. Chris Bowden Consulting and Logika Group recently worked with Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) to develop a nature recovery plan for the Bernwood, Otmoor and Ray region ( https://lnkd.in/exxMjTQm ). This work highlighted the huge potential for nature recovery in this 350km2 area and we developed six feasible and practical projects which could be funded and started within the next few years. There is so much potential within these three counties and hopefully this fund will help kickstart it! Prue Addison Estelle Bailey Matt Whitney Nicola Thomas
Nature Recovery Fund launch today We are living in a nature and climate crisis. The UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world and wildlife desperately needs our help. That is why BBOWT is today launching our biggest ever campaign, the Nature Recovery Fund, to raise £3 million in three years. These funds will help us bring wildlife back and benefit climate & people. Nature is sending us an SOS. Will you answer the call? #NatureRecoveryFund #BiodiversityCrisis #ClimateCrisis https://buff.ly/3rsWwNo

Conserve Utah Valley is a charity organization that is working hard to protect Utah Lake and Great Salt Lake. Their initiative "Grow the Flow Utah" is focused on increasing the water level in Great Salt Lake which we all know has severely diminished. If you live in Utah, recreate in Utah, or are passionate about environmental sustainability. I encourage you to sign up for their newsletter and get more involved with protecting the lakes that create the Greatest Snow on Earth! Two easy ways to help grow the flow in Utah are: 1. Xeriscaping our lawns to match our natural landscape. 2. Changing the perception of green grass lawns to be seasonal (June, July, August). many Utahns water excessively from last frost to first frost (May through October) which wastes a lot of water. https://lnkd.in/gA9rC34F

The area surrounding Bethel is one of Maine’s biggest recreational hubs thanks to its proximity to Sunday River Ski Resort, but the town itself lacked a community green space. So we created the Bethel Community Forest, consisting of 1,500 acres of forested land and a network of trails. Community Forests bring important health, environmental, and economic benefits to their communities, but they face unprecedented threats such as real estate development, unsustainable timber harvesting, and—worst of all—severe climate change-driven megafires. Help us protect more of America’s forests by acting today. https://lnkd.in/eDAuzZWf
