Todays Drug Cheat is Track Athlete GIL ROBERTS - USA Gil Roberts, a member of the U.S. gold medal winning 4x400 meter relay team at the 2016 Rio Olympics, was handed an eight-year suspension after testing positive for banned substances for a second time, said the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) on Friday. An out-of-competition test taken by Roberts in September last year found multiple banned substances including ostarine which boosts muscle growth. A repeat offender, Roberts received a 16-month ban in 2022 after testing positive for andarine and ostarine. He also tested positive for a banned diuretic and masking agent in 2017 but avoided suspension after successfully arguing the substance entered his body by kissing his girlfriend, who was using a sinus medication containing the drugs. 35 days to go until the start of the Paris Olympic Games. #saynotodrugsinsport

Kinesiotherapist/Researcher/Lecturer/Consultant @ Motus Melior Finding efficient solutions for complex musculoskeletal problems
Currently Dominik Mihaljević, experienced football player of NK Rudeš (Zagreb) is finishing his rehabilitation of hamstrings distal musculotendinous junction injury (DMTJ), injury known from literature as ,,T-junction hamstrings injury''. Based on current research and practical experiences, this injury usually demands longer time to return to sport because of injury due to miotendinous junction that connects short and long head of biceps femoris muscle, which in turn has potentially slower biological healing rate than typical miofascial injury. Also DMTJ injuries have very high reinjury rates that go even higher than 50% (Entwisle et al, 2017). Taking that into consideration, we decided to prolong time in strength development phase (even though function, clinical condition, symptoms are optimal) before introducing fast stretch-shorthening exercises at longer muscle-tendon unit lengths (e.g. sprint). It is also interesting to point out that two ultrasound examinations didn't recognized this type of injury which can have significant injury burden, while it was clear on MRI that injury is present. We hope that Dominik is soon on the court to help his team win as many games in the first Croatian league. #sportsrehab #hamstrings #football #motusmelior #dominikmihaljevic

And Todays Naughty Athlete is - Abderrahim Ougra SPAIN The Athletes Integrity Unit has provisionally suspended Abderrahim Ougra for Evading, Refusing or Failing to submit to Sample Collection. I wonder why? The 3000m runner obviously has something to hide and because this case is still under investigation I can not at this point in time that he has been banned for using performance enhancing drugs. If any athlete has nothing to hide then surely they are not going to do all that they can to evade, or refuse a drugs test. This case continues to show the amount of work that an organization like the Athletes Integrity Unit has to do to catch the cheats. Not every athlete makes life easy for the controllers, and in this case the runner has done his best to evade everyone. I will continue to monitor this case and report the final outcome. With just 56 days to go until the Paris Olympic Games commence over 570 athletes from the sport of Track and Field alone are currently suspended for doping related incidents. #saynotodrugsinsports

Todays Drug Cheat In Sport Is - Mohamed Katir -SPAIN Katir has been one of Spain greatest middle distance running stars over recent years, and last October he was slapped with a ban because he received (3) strikes on his whereabout process. If you don't know, athletes are given three passes if you like for not being available for a anti doping test. Then if you fail to be available for your next test BOOM, you are suspected of being a naughty cookie. What Katir has gone on and done though is even worse. Not only has been pinged for the whereabouts process, but he has now been found guilty of tampering with his anti doping tests. Meaning, he willingly and knowingly tried to alter the sample of his test he provided to the Athletes Integrity Unit in some way. As a result Katir's case is now being submitted once again for sentencing, and hopefully his current ban will be lengthened, and he will miss the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028. Athletes who decide to cheat will go to extraordinary lengths to lie, and to cover up this misdemeanors. Katir was one of those athletes that TV Commentators used to rave about, his improvement in races against the best athletes in the world and how his personal best times where on a great trajectory. Thing is, it was a lie. There are just 44 days until the Paris Olympic Games commences. How many dirty athletes will be participating in Paris? Do you even care? Has doping become an acceptable thing by the general public now? I read every day on online forums...." they nearly all do it, so what is the issue". I care, and I wont stop trying to make a difference. The war against athletes who cheat must continue for the sake of all of the clean athletes. This war needs more funding, focus, and resources. #saynotodrugsinsport

What do you think are the main reasons of so many ACL injuries in Indian football? Some of the causes in my eyes are: 1. Nutrition 2. Enough Rest 3. Strength and Conditioning (Football specific) 4. Pitches 5. Playing matches every day (Multiple on a day even, as I know University games wanted to play 3 x 90 minutes games on 1 day for several days ...) ...
