Not another CAA CAP 722X!???
For UAS operators/manufacturers looking for clarity around what constitutes a "Significant change" and therefore requires a "variation" to their OA, see here:

The Dutch CAA (IL&T) has updated the overview of Specific category UAS operators in The Netherlands (19-07-2024). This list can be used to determine whether or not the operator has the right privileges to perform a flight.
Due to the 'containment problems', very few operational authorisations have been issued since October of last year. Almost all of these authorisations are based on 'basic' containment, limiting the operational capabilities of the operator.

A hugely important safety announcement for all UK drone pilots…
YOUR DRONE’S GEOFENCING WILL NOT KEEP YOU SAFE OR LEGAL!
Let me explain… the geofencing of many drone manufacturers (especially DJI) does NOT align with UK law.
In theory drone geofencing is a fantastic mitigation for both preventing airspace infringements and thus keeping your flight safe(r) and legal.
However due of this misalignment between drone manufacturer’s geofencing and UK law, there are far too many examples of drones flying where they shouldn’t, and also many examples of drones being prevented from flying where they are legally entitled to.
The ideal solution would be to get drone manufacturers to use legally defined airspace restrictions (I’ve been saying this for years), however we still live in an imperfect world and so the onus is currently placed on the remote pilot.

Please see our latest Safety Notice.
The purpose of this Safety Notice is to highlight inaccuracies with RPAS manufacturers’ inbuilt Geo-Fencing/Awareness and to reinforce the RPAS Operators responsibilities according to UK Reg (EU) 2019/947 UAS.OPEN.050(5)
A core feature of Frasca #flighttraining devices is the high level of realism. This is critical as it allows #pilots the ability to safely and cost-effectively practice procedures and maneuvers they will be expected to perform in the #aircraft. It also gives them the ability to gain confidence with the actual avionics in a controlled environment. https://hubs.li/Q02bGwZ_0

Runway conditions at uncontrolled airports are often uncertain. I’m not personally familiar with the Lear 55 but I know the 60 needs a lot of runway. If you can’t be sure, run the num for the worst case scenario.

High time Captain, Low time FO ... How much experience in 135 ops in a Learjet on a contaminated runway??
The PIC should have known better ... high flight time does not necessarily mean safe or smart.
