“The real struggles of college life hit me hard already in my very first Minerva semester: rigorous academic curriculum, city rotation, figuring out how to meet basic needs, socializing & FOMO, time management, and many more things - I felt stressed, burnt out, and didn’t understand where to start to end this constant cycle of challenges. After realizing that I was not the only one facing these problems, I decided to find a feasible solution to make Minerva students’ lives more enjoyable and stable. My Capstone project turned into a “Fast Track to Slow Living” lifesaver guide for Minerva University students on applying slow living techniques every day and shifting their focus on doing less & living more while being more productive and leading a more balanced lifestyle. I have always wanted to create my own product that would help people improve their quality of life, and I believe my Capstone project is a good start to this journey. In the “hustle & bustle” culture everywhere, most people continue to race for rewards and external validation set by society’s timelines and expectations, and the slow-living mindset is a topic that will be in demand in the near future, so I am excited to research it more and possibly expand my project to broader audiences.” — Masha, Class of 2023, College of Business Every student at Minerva completes a Capstone project, which culminates their four-year academic journey. This self-directed project must be a novel contribution to their field of choice and includes an integrated application of their skills and interests, as well as an academic paper detailing an analytical explanation of the project’s approach and substance.

I seldom talk about myself but today I thought I would share a story about my journey 😊 Just the other week, I had a heartfelt conversation with my grandmother about success and personal growth, both professionally and personally. She shared how she never imagined she would attend a graduation ceremony or talk about her grandkids with such pride. It made me realise how much she, and every parent hope to see their children succeed, even if just one of them "makes it." It's a testament to their love and the sacrifices they make 🤍. Her words made me reflect on my journey. As a child, I was one of the smartest kids in primary school. But as life and my environment changed, my progress seemed to stall. By high school, I started to struggle, my intellectual spark dimming. I pursued further studies after high school, but it was out of obligation, not passion. It wasn’t until eight years later that I decided to go back to school, driven by my experiences, but still lacking a clear direction. Returning to education reminded me of my potential and reignited my drive. It was then that I remembered who I was – someone with a plan and a vision for my life. Fast forward to today, and I’m embracing each day as an opportunity for growth. Three years ago, I couldn’t have imagined standing on a stage to speak. Now, I seize every chance to share my knowledge on topics I’m passionate about. For two consecutive years, I’ve been the top academic achiever in my course. I was trusted by my University to help create and test content for an online information administration module. I'm honored to serve as the president of an international society that stands for leadership, academic excellence and service within my university and recently launched SAIM Consultants, focusing on strategic, and sustainable administrative information management. These experiences and projects have not only fueled my professional and personal growth but also contributed to the development of others. Life’s journey is full of unexpected turns. Reflecting on how far I've come, I'm reminded that growth often comes from the challenges we face and the perseverance we show in overcoming them. As my friends and colleagues finalize our fourth module assessment, marking nearly a quarter of our 2-year MBA program complete, I've gleaned some essential insights over the past six months that may be valuable for those considering a similar path.   1.) There is something to learn from everyone: Beyond the academic richness of the MBA, I've discovered that interactions with peers through conversations, study groups, discussion forums, and networking have significantly broadened my thinking, questioning, and problem-solving skills, thanks to the diversity of my cohort.   2.) It's a balancing act: The MBA demands a substantial commitment of time for reading, note-taking, peer responses, and research. Balancing these academic responsibilities with work and family life requires extreme dedication, but the effort is ultimately rewarding.   3.) Rely on your colleagues: Initially, I didn't anticipate forming close connections outside of academics. However, within just six months, I can genuinely consider some of my fellow students as friends, highlighting the importance of leaning on your colleagues throughout the journey. #MBA
