Many of ya'll are celebrating the demise of QuickBooks Pro/Premier a bit too soon.
Your clients using desktop now are not going to suddenly move to QBO or elsewhere if they haven't by now. Unless Intuit inserts a kill switch in older versions, those clients milking 2021 and prior are not going away. Intuit announced that they will stop SELLING Pro/Premier on 7/31/24. Current customers can renew.
They did not announce when they will stop supporting Pro/Premier completely. Since Intuit loves to keep customers and accountants in the dark and unable to plan, speculation on a final end date is all over the place. The EULA states they can drop it any time, even in the middle of a subscription period, which itself is not defined. Is it 12 months from the date of purchase or payment? Is it three years after its release in May, which is when they currently sunset and force upgrading the file? If you make a payment in July, I assume they will not drop it before July 2025. They are not stopping subscriptions, so Intuit could support it until 2027! Will they release a 2025 in Sept '24? I can't imagine any feature upgrades. I say they will not. If they do continue, they will make another huge price increase and gain another year of subscriptions.
Clients look to us, and we have no way of knowing.
