⛔️ CANCELED! It's hard to believe, but because of the non-existent documentation and the manufacturer's support, I had to cancel the demo with MLX91231. I was not able to find any information about the UART communication protocol (command, data format). What I received was a baudrate 😁 and a hint that I should look for information about UART on the Internet 🤪 OK then, no demo, no video, no promotion. 🆕 IQS7222A - Capacitive sensing controller Yesterday, I presented my latest sensor demo—the slider and capacitive button controller The PCB accommodates the IQS7222A from Azoteq The first step was to capture the simplest schematic and create a layout for the PCB using #kicad. The second step was to issue the manufacturing order. 🚀 Tired of complex touch interfaces? Simplify your design with the IQS7222A. The flexible and fully configurable ProxFusion® IC IQS7222A by Azoteq is the core of my newest demo board. Up to 8 capacitive buttons or 2 independent 4-segment sliders can be handled without any activity of a completely offloaded hosting microcontroller. Do you need to detect gestures? No problem. This device can recognise: • Flick gesture. • Tap gesture. • Swipe gesture. The ProxFusion® IC IQS7222A can process a linear-shaped slider or a wheel. I designed a simple demo board with four capacitive touch buttons and a single 4-segment slider. The resolution of the slider can be between 16 and 4096 digits. When the slider inputs are idle, the slider Value register contains 0xFFFF. Of course, there are registers for all possible event flags, so you can find what happens at a glance. My experience from the ProxFusion® IC IQS7222A demo board: 1️⃣ Start each I2C access only when the RDY signal is active. 2️⃣ The I2C register addresses are both 8-bit and 16-bit. For the 16-bit addresses—high byte comes first, unlike the data which is low byte first. 3️⃣ I recommend studying the example Arduino code that can be downloaded on the Azoteq product webpage.
