I’m delighted to announce that Harder Stadium, on the beautiful campus of University of California, Santa Barbara will be the home of Santa Barbara Sky FC commencing March 2025. In a multi-year deal, this 17,000 seater, soccer-specific stadium will host USL league One games, welcoming the vast Santa Barbara County soccer community to enjoy top- class soccer in this magnificent location. As founding owner, I couldn’t be more proud of the work our team has done to bring us to this exciting juncture in our young history, and look forward to playing a part of the continued huge growth of The Beautiful Game here in the USA.

Congratulations Peter! Harder Stadium is an amazing choice, and I can't wait to see the team in action there. As someone who accidentally sent a "reply-all" to all of EA, I hope as a founding owner you've put a stop to this. Good luck to you Peter Moore and entire SB Sky FC Team. I played for Real Santa Barbara in the WSL in the late 80's to early 90's and that venue is just spectacular to play in. So happy to hear it's coming back.

It was a true delight to welcome back to campus the fun-loving Monica Bertino Wooden ’81 and her entourage of family and friends as we all celebrated Bertino Field at Butterfield Stadium. Even beyond Monica’s amazingly generous and transformative gift, our fans had much to cheer about last week: first, the opening of the field, which is now named in her honor, and then a decisive victory there on Saturday. When North Carolina State tipped off in the ACC tournament three weeks ago, the Wolfpack had a 17-14 record and an infinitesimal chance of making the NCAA tournament. But they ripped off five wins in five days to steal an automatic berth to March Madness. Then they went on a wild run even by the standards of an event known for insanity. Now they’re easily the most improbable Final Four team of the past decade. What were the odds of the Wolfpack getting this far? To find out, you can take the win probabilities for each of the past four games from the college-basketball statistical website kenpom.com, then multiply those percentages to quantify the rough likelihood of a Final Four run. N.C. State was a 1-in-88 long shot. But even that number doesn’t accurately convey how unexpected this Final Four romp has been. That’s because the Wolfpack really had to survive and advance nine times. The chance of that happening wasn’t 1 in 88. It was more like 1 in 23,512. To put that .004% probability in context, the National Weather Service says you’re more likely to get struck by lightning during your lifetime. Six days ago, Long Beach State announced it was firing head coach Dan Monson after 17 years. However, the school decided to allow him to coach out the Big West Tournament. So, he just led LBSU to the Big West title—and the school’s first NCAA Tournament berth in over a decade.
