Which is what precisely happened when Perfetti India team Karan Budhiraja and Pragati Nagpal along with our MD Nikhil Sharma, were invited by their Alma Mater, T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal, for an interaction with 2nd year MBA students. After the nostalgic round of reliving their college days, they spent time mentoring students interested in Sales and Marketing. They used some case studies to enunciate brand building initiatives and campaigns and the evolving landscape of E-commerce. I would add one more thing - marketing, like market research, is an opportunity to really understand people, their problems, their needs, and construct your touch-points to answer those, honestly and with your best ability - being large hearted and empathetic is a necessary skill. The best marketers I have met 'get' people, and are excited by them, however contradictory they may seem.
