Its been about 10 days since I attempted the 100 mile race…part 2…and I’ve been contemplating the right words to express. Every time there is a lesson, I just need to be truthful to my own thoughts to realize this. I can tell you it is a lot harder to write this email on back of not finishing the race. “Going half way is still good” I keep hearing – I sometimes say its very good…its like meeting half of last year’s budget (bit finance joke).
It is not the fact that I was about 20 min late to 50 mile aid station that irritated me. It is not the fact that I did not give myself best chance of success by failing to wear contact lenses instead of glasses, not having waterproof clothing as I went through 45 miles over ankle mud or just poor navigation and getting lost for extra 6 miles. What irritated me is that I just had hard time accepting reality – I’m annoyed that not finishing annoyed me and it is even difficult to admit this.
Spent a lot of time thinking about why I felt this way to try and give back some value for support I’ve received. As father of 3, watching them grow, each one of them was filled with enthusiasm for progress. How often did I see them fall while they learned to walk. Did they pout and be hard on themselves? Kids fail all the time and it does not impact them at all. They just get back up and try and try…and try again…without giving an inch to self doubt. At what point do we lose this mentality? Each time I do these types of events it is one person enter and another come out. It is reiteration for me of long-life lesson that failure is just delayed success, it is part of progress. Don’t forget how to fail and let the road to improvement be paved with failures – no matter what we are doing. I’m hoping that I have the strength to keep this mentality in all aspects of life and that you draw some positives for you.
Thank you everyone for support and we’ve made great contribution to Juventu’d youth soccer with over 1200$ in donations.

Last year we collected over 3000$ for local food bank in Revere from just incredible current/former colleagues, friends across the network and race participants. I am very humbled by the amount of support I received and it gave me courage to once again try to make incredible memory. On October 7th, I’ll be running 100 mile ultra marathon (Massive Midstate 100) from New Ipswich, NH to CT in effort to raise funds for local community.
Please see more detail in this video and Venmo link for donations is below.

If you are wondering what kind of impact your business can have for a not for profit organization, check this out.
This is the third year in a row that this local business has turned over the proceeds of mulch sales for the day, totaling roughly $10,000. That kind of support is huge for Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington.
The relationship started with a #CSGW presentation where owner Marty Young was in attendance. He learned how the program worked and how it could be an impactful tool for #CommunitySafety. As a business that has been impacted by crime, he felt this was an organization that he could support.
Aligning your business with the #CrimeStoppers brand isn't just a smart move for community engagement, it can actually be a boost to your profile. Consider partnering with your local program.
Wow! Another awesome #MulchSale year in #MountForest . Thank you to Marty Young and his team at Young's Home Hardware who donated ALL proceeds from this year's sale. Here Marty, left, is joined by #CSGW Past Chair Deryck West.
Outstanding support from this community partner!
Shout out to our #Guelph partners, Andre Belisle and his team at JL's Home Hardware for raising $1,776 for our program during #MayMulchMonth.
Did you know you can have an impact in your community by donating real estate or land?
WVIA now proudly accepts donations of residential and commercial property, as well as undeveloped land. Making a gift of real estate is a new way you can help support WVIA’s mission and ensure that we can continue to serve Northeast and Central Pennsylvania for years to come.
The process is simple, for more information on donating real estate, call Jen Kindler at 570-602-GIVE or visit wvia.givingproperty.org
Once your house has been deconstructed and the materials donated, we receive a detailed itemized donation receipt listing the items actually received at the non-profit, which we use to conduct our valuation research.
Your appraisal and 8283 Tax Form will arrive 4-8 weeks later, depending on the complexity and/or size of the building and materials.

Cool Designs Ltd is supporting the Northumberland Football League's Christmas Toy Appeal.
Every year, 50,000+ children in the northeast region wake up without a present at Xmas; for many, this figure is shocking, but this is the reality of how things are.
Unfortunately, this is the normality for many to wake up on Christmas morning without a present.
Last year, thanks to a lot of generosity, they raised almost £6000 in toy and cash donations.
Again, the goal is for Cool Designs to help back this project and do what they can to support it.
This collection raises funds to get new toy donations to help ensure kids wake up to a present this Christmas.
Every single penny and every toy/gift makes a huge difference.
