"The United States should adopt a 4+2 posture beginning in 2025 that consists of four U.S. brigade combat teams (BCTs) and two headquarters, in Germany and Poland. Overall, the United States should retain three permanent forward-stationed BCTs—one ABCT in Poland, one infantry brigade combat team (IBCT) in Italy, and one Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) in Germany—and one rotational IBCT headquartered in Romania. This model should include the permanent forward-basing of two combat aviation brigades." https://lnkd.in/d8mwnKgB

TBT: Military dress is a highly regulated issue in every service. However, among aviators a tradition of wearing a squadron-unique silk scarf around the pilot’s neck is a tradition. Dating back to World War I and the flamboyant, devil-may-care days of the Red Baron’s Flying Circus and Eddie Rickenbacker’s Hat in the Ring Squadron, this is a picture of my last squadron’s scarf. "Back to the Basics," "Brilliance in the Basics," "The Fundamentals" are all lines we have heard throughout our military career. Back to basics for our Profession of Arms is centered on War fighting and building warriors. I'm proud of our team for designing a 5 day course rooted in war fighting, and then instructing 200 Airmen over 10 months. I have seen Airmen from all ranks gain valuable leadership skills with a better understanding of warrior ethos with this class. Looking forward to see what ideas the team brings in the next 10 months #warriormindset

This might be the closest I get to a parachute jump. We had a private tour today of one of Spains Airforce bases and got to see just what goes into the training and preparation of those who choose to become part of the parachute regiment. As you might expect they have an elite team of free fall specialists, I was able to try their pre prepared pack for size. This pack contains two chutes, main and reserve - it’s a very different world from those who do combat drops for sure. Total respect to all those that jump. 👊😎 If you’ve done it what’s your experience? #fear #perspective #challenge #experience

A major unseen benefit of the Block IIIs that is not directly combat-related is an increase in lifespan. Military aircraft rack up lots of flight time between training and deployments, and every extra hour they can spend flying and fighting counts. The Block III Hornets are projected to have a service life around 4,000 hours greater than their Block II counterparts, increasing their total life from 6,000 to 10,000 hours.

During World War Two, as with today, military logistics is one of the main keys to make any command an effective fighting force regardless of the theatre of operations. This was especially true for the US Navy’s Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron’s, without the pre-deployment training the volunteer boat crews received, and the repair and maintenance skills of the Base Force personnel, the boats would have rapidly deteriorated due to the demands of combat operations. This book focuses on the advanced pre-deployment training bases in Miami, Florida and Toboga Island, Panama, the construction and command structure in addition to the training the crews received at these locations. This book also focuses on the various PT Boat bases developed during the Solomons Islands campaign, their construction by the Seabees, base facilities and support services they provided to the high performance and maintenance intensive Motor Torpedo Boat Squadrons. It is currently available at Amazon.👍🏻😎⚓️🔱🇺🇸
