There is no shortage of jobs in the E-Comm sectors across various operational roles in all cities. We see and experience this every day. Our supply network is congested with open positions that are difficult to fill due to a shortage of labor. Scaling warehouses and the supply chain, in general, is very challenging. As the E-commerce sector continues to grow, we anticipate a pressing need for effective retention strategies in the coming years, underscoring the importance of employee engagement and satisfaction. #Ecommerce #JobOpportunities #SupplyChain #WarehouseJobs #LaborShortage #EmployeeEngagement #RetentionStrategies #WorkforceDevelopment #EmployeeSatisfaction #CareerGrowth #TalentAcquisition #ScalingChallenges

Challenger #seasonalhiring Report - U.S. Retailers added 119,700 jobs in December, marking a slight increase from the 102,400 jobs added in the same month of the previous year. This brings the total for the season to 564,200, an 11% rise from the 509,300 jobs announced in the fourth quarter of 2022. Despite this growth, the figures are among the lowest since the 495,800 jobs were added in Q4 2009. “This conservative hiring pattern could be attributed to the cost of labor and an anticipation of slower economic growth as we head into 2024. However, the #holidayshopping season ended strong, and #retailers expanded their ranks to meet demand,” said Andrew Challenger, Senior Vice President of Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc. https://lnkd.in/guQDVKvx #seasonalwork #holidayseason #holidayhiring #seasonaljobs #seasonalworkers #useconomy

Retailers Trim Holiday Hiring U.S. retailers are expected to be less merry this holiday season when it comes to seasonal hiring plans. It's expected that 410,000 seasonal staffers will be added this year, which would be the lowest number since 2008, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas. Driving the decline: higher costs and weaker consumer confidence. Among major retailers, Amazon is the only one that is boosting its holiday hiring, adding a record 250,000 people. That would be a nearly 70 percent increase over the past two years. Target’s hiring plan is unchanged at 100,000. Macy’s will trim its hiring by 3,000. Target and Home Depot have said customers' discretionary purchases are slowing in favor of necessities such as groceries.

U.S. retailers will hire the lowest number of seasonal workers for this holiday season since 2008, due to increased labor costs and shaky consumer confidence, according to a report by Challenger, Gray & Christmas provided exclusively to Reuters. Retailers are expected to add just 410,000 seasonal jobs this season, according to an analysis of non-seasonally adjusted data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) by the global outplacement and executive coaching firm. That is above the 324,900 workers they added during the last quarter of the financial recession of 2008. U.S. retailers added 519,400 jobs in the last quarter of 2022, a 26 percent decline from the same period in 2021. #retailcareers #seasonalhiring
