What a year 2020 has turned out to be. 😐😅 I feel like I've felt the full spectrum of emotions over the last 6 months. The fear of the unknown, the loss of exciting milestones and vacations, financial insecurity, political unrest, social isolation, emotional exhaustion — it all comes in ebbs and flows. I think we all felt like 2020 would be a catalyst year — we just did anticipate it coming in this form. The challenges we face are never bereft of blessings, though. More than ever, I've come to value what truly matters. I've held tighter to my loved ones. I've written more notes of encouragement to my friends. I've picked up new skills. I've slowed down. I've refocused. I've pivoted (over, and over, and over again). I've learned how to choose faith over fear — even when fear screams the loudest. I've learned to find quiet confidence in my perspective, even if people I respect don't agree. I've seen powerful reminders of how deeply we need each other, and how quickly we fall apart when we isolate ourselves. May we learn to slow down and be more mindful of our steps. May we grant ourselves (and each other) more grace. May we redefine "success" and embrace small wins. May we continue to show up and keep shining our light.
