Piston and Plunger Pumps are generally used in pressure washing. Plunger and piston pumps operate similarly: both reciprocating displacement pumps pull water through an intake valve and discharge it through an outtake valve. Most pressure washers have duplex (two) or triplex (three) pistons/plungers. Triplex pumps are more durable and efficient than duplex pumps. Piston pumps consist of a tightly fitting piston inside a cylinder, sucking and pushing water through valves. They wear quickly and are best for residential use, like washing vehicles. Plunger pumps have loosely fitting plungers, creating varying water pressure. They excel in high-pressure industrial applications, like graffiti removal and heavy-duty vehicle cleaning. Today I got an opportunity to visit the forging plant of Galperti Group. I was amazed to see the size of forging components they can produce, especially a forged ring of diameter up to 6.5m. I took a photo next to it, just to show what a 6.5-diameter ring looks like compared to me..!!! interesting...isn't it?😯 It was even more fascinating to see the machinery used to produce this kind of huge components. As an FEA engineer, working with software and the modeled versions of the components, we tend to forget the complexity of production and the true scale reality of the components. This was a good experience to get to know the practical side. #Feaengineer #oilandgas #forging #mechanical #engineering
